Srixon Z745 vs. ZX7 - Offset Comparison

Recommended Posts

Have seen some comments regarding this and maybe someone has already created a post but I thought I would share my insight on the offset discussion on what look to be the successor to the famed z745s. While I do not have any comparison pics to show I was at my local golf shop yesterday and was able to get a pov look at the ZX7 at address (4-PW).

While I know the specs show marginally more offset when compared to the 745s I did not think it showed at all even into the longer irons (which might even look better). I'm super particular about offset and can confidently say the offset looks nowhere near as noticeable as the images on the Srixon site show. Was incredibly pleased with the whole aesthetic with the return to the more squared toe and shapes of the shorter irons in a return to what everyone loved about the 745s. The topline does appear to be slimmed down as well and as people have noted the soles are as well.

Just my two cents but anyone concerned of how the offset would appear I'll just say that as soon as my 745s wear out (both sets haha) I will be grabbing these next. Seeing them in person completely sold me.

Totally could buy in on all that you've said was just my impression finally getting to see them at address and coming from someone who has played the 745s for a while. I would just say for those who c

I do disagree on this a bit. Though I thought the offset was blended better on the Zx7 compared to the 785, it still appeared to be higher compared to my 745 when I held them side by side. The top line also looks a bit thicker.

I thought the 745 were designed really well, showing very little offset.  Such great looking irons, I am glad they kind of went back to the less rounded toe in the 785/ZX7 though.  I have had trouble finding irons that perform as well as the Srixons... others look nice, but when it comes to performance, they are tough to beat.

Man, I would love to find a set of Z745. I keep looking, but damn. I love the look of the ZX7, but the Z745's just look great.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
