Westwood missed the putt at 17, but the tournament was lost by the approach to 16. Lee played that way too conservatively.

It has lots to do with the fact that he hit 17 greens today.  If he has made any putts early he’d be 5 shots clear.  The running hooks were on purpose. The one on 18 just started too far left. He hit the same shot yesterday on 18.

There is no way JT meant to hit that draw that close to the water on 18.  With that much draw spin it could easily have kicked left into the water.  Guy was racking up birdies all week though, not taking anything away from him.

Perfectly sums up Westy’s career. Lots of awesomely boring second place finishes in big tournaments. I’m a huge fan of his and he seems like one of the best dudes out there, but if you don’t have the killer instinct all of a sudden you are turning 48 and it’s been a bunch of “what if’s”. Really lame finish.
