Courses near Cape Girardeau, MO

OK, needing some help with courses again. Have some friends that want to go down and play a course (Bent Creek GC in Jackson, MO) in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Why, I don’t know, but I’m just along for the ride and to play. So I am looking for a course or two around the area or maybe even a little farther south to possibly play.  Buddies said that they would even go farther south to try to get warmer weather and greener grass if need be so that could be a possibility as well. Just looking what anyone recommend or knows in the area as you have always helped out before. Thanks.

I can help out as I live about 90 minutes north or Cape Girardeau.  Bent Creek is okay, nothing great, but not bad either.  Front 9 wanders up/down hills and is secluded while the back 9 is set in a subdivision.  Fairways are zoysia, but will likely still be dormant when you come.  I think the best rate is booked off of their website.  There is another public/muni course in Cape Girardeau called Cape Jaycees.  It is an old city course with sloped crazy greens.  It is fun, but it is pretty crowded usually.  The only other courses close by are all private...Cape Girardeau Country Club, Kimbeland CC and Dalhousie (Nicklaus design).  Come to think of it, Kimbeland used to let public play if they were from outside the county.  Might give them a call to see if that is still the case.  If so, it is less than a mile from Bent Creek.  To get anything else decent to play, you will have to either go north to Farmington, MO (my home course).

Crown Pointe GC.  Good course, great fairways (zoysia).  Not sure when you are travelling this way, but it has been very wet lately.  https://crownpointegolfclub.com/
