Educate me as my head is now spinning. Are these the least sought after without square grooves?

Is below accurate:

Most desirable - +no+

Second - + model

Third - Regular usga conforming non square grooves(mine?)

One can dive deep into the minutia of E2 irons.  What is "sought after" for their collectibility, desirable for their playability.  The + no + version certainly qualifies, as they were made for only a brief transitional period (~ 6 months).  The updated scalloped sole with square grooves. The supply is less than other versions.  Would contend that one could flip a coin between the E2 and E2+ versions, mostly a playability preference.  Setting aside condition or completeness of a set, the FMV between the two doesn't seem to all that different.

The version that has a high degree of desirability in Ping collector circles are the first "V" groove PAT PEND E2's ('82 - '84).  The Karsten Mfg Corp "Upside Down" models.  Google for a picture.

IDK if the price premium for a set of + no + model is worth it based on how it plays. Had a no + SW for a time, didn't notice any difference with how it spun the ball.  Played fine out of sand, not so much from everywhere else.  Perhaps due to not being skilled enough to take advantage of minor groove differences.  Further, BeCu variants will always carry a hefty price premium versus the SS versions of any type other than the PAT PEND.  Seems to be where the OSP E2 market is at these days.

Get's confusing.  This reference source sorts it out for someone interested:

The Ping BeCu B60 is one of my favourite looking putters.

Problem is, I can't putt with one to save my life. I tend to hit putters with that type of neck (plumber's neck?) left, so the B60, Anser and Anser 2 are all out for me.

Beautiful putter, though.

Thrifted a SS B60 last year and was pleasantly surprised by how well it putted.  Something about the head shape I found appealing, the shape made it easy to line up a putt, rolled the ball nicely.  Then again, not opposed to plumber's necks.  It's very light though, been adding a lot of lead tape to the sole and rolling it on the basement "practice" green over the winter.  Likely will go in the bag for further course testing (aka fooling around) once the golf season gets under way.

You may be aware, maybe not.  The were several B models.  The B60 and B61 with plumber's necks, B62 and B63 without.  The B63 being a full heel shafted putter.  And the B60 5BZ that was the heel shafted (single bend?), no hosel, face balanced version.

Based on one reference source I have, only the B60 & 61 were Cu.  If you like the head shape, might be worthwhile investigating the other options.

I did know about the B61 version, but not the others. However, it's the BeCu with the plumber's neck that I really like. I'm not so fond of the looks of the heel-shafted versions.

Weird, isn't it? The heel-shafted versions would probably work OK for me, but they lack the allure of the plumber's neck version that I know I can't putt with for toffee.

I hit a b63 and it was way funky for me being so far out on the heel. Felt like an iron.  I picked up a set of used clubs for a buddy a couple weeks back and it was in the stash.  I have a putting green in my backyard and I couldn't even finish one session with it. I love the shape of them though. Wish shaft was longer on the BeCu b60 I have. I'd keep it.
