Found This Gem at a Flea Market

I was checking out a local flea market and found this Titleist Tour Balata 90 in a bucket of old golf balls.  I'd like to take it to the range and chip with it to see how it performs. I think it would be fun.

It will definitely smile at you if caught thin for sure!!!!!  This is one of the few that I have found that is not egg shaped or cut too bad.

I used to love the tour balatas!! When I was a junior, me and my buddies would go for a few holes after school and hit Pinnacle Gold’s off the tee for longest drive but from 120 yards in we’d switch to Tour Balatas and see who could get the most backspin!! So much fun!!

That ball is about 24 or 25 years old.  Wouldn’t surprise me if the cover has hardened somewhat by now.  I bet the windings would break apart when struck and leave bumps on the ball’s surface.  Take a good wrap at it with a 50* wedge and see how it does on a green.
