These are flat out performing for me right now. The toe side forgiveness is incredible with the tungsten weight in the toe

The G425's have a much higher MOI than the Taylormade's according to Maltby.  This will provide a higher degree of off center strike forgiveness.  The TM lofts are stronger.  With respect to the PXG's, I've not seen the new version but the older version 0211's were a fair bit smaller than the G's.  I expect they have a nicer feel and sound, but less forgiveness.

I'm reading the Maltby chart wrong then. Because the one I have shows the G425 with a mpf of 605 and the Taylormade sim2 max at 814 ?

Look at the MOI numbers, not MPF.

I got my g425 irons with Alta cb regular shafts 6-sw two weeks ago. Was playing with g25’s but wanted to switch to graphite shafts.

I think they are really good clubs.
I regularly hit out the toe and tbh the ball goes pretty much the same.

They really inspire confidence at address and they go high and straight.
They look lovely as well.

Played my third round with these and finally it all clicked. Hit 12GIRs today, it blew away my previous best of 9 GIRs. These clubs are so easy hit.

So what was the adjustment that got them going for you, asking for a hacker!

I was hitting them a bit heavy coming from a thinner soled club . I spent a few range sessions ensuring my low point was a little bit more forward so I was striking it cleaner. After that it was point and shoot. Hopefully, it continues 😄

Would it help to move the ball back an inch? Or is that too much? Hopefully I get my set this week.

I have a problem, I ordered a U wedge with the set, and now I am shooting darts with the Glide u wedge! I also ordered a 6 iron, and am now shooting darts with the G410 6 hybrid. I think I should have ordered 7-pw instead of 6-uw! My neighbor has this long strip of grass across the street, and I mow half of it to practice on. It is 80 yards long! So my wedge game is really stepping up, as I practice with my sand wedge on the strip. I have always struggled with a wedge, but now it is coming along great. It really showed in my score yesterday, as I was short of the green all day, but kepted hitting good wedge shots. Learning how to flush the ball made all the difference.

Chatted with Dicks and they said Ping is assembling my irons now, and will expedite shipping. That would be awesome if I got to hit them soon. My G425 5 wood came in today, and I may get the 7 wood soon. The G410 hybrids are safe.

Got tired of the heads flying off my T200's...so I sold them.  Picked up a set of G425's, 4-PW and played them Thursday.  I shot a 81, which is a great score for my age (65).  Balls fly very high and straight, and stop very quickly on the greens.  I was very impressed with the 4 iron, as it carried out there as well as my TS2 hybrid.  These are much nicer looking (and feel better) that the G410's I played last year.

Recently tried a set of G425's and super forgiving just not that more forgiving for me than my I500's so will not be making the switch.

Big Ping fan and I recommended a set (G425) to a frined of mine and he was fitted and ordered his set, he has waited over 10 weeks and still has not received his irons.

Will not be recommending Ping equipment anymore until they fix their delivery problems.

I've read that it's not just the Ping brand that has been hit with delays due to Covid supply issues and protocols with the unprecedented demand for all things golf. Unfortunate, but your friend's timeline isn't out of whack with that in these times.

I'm in Canada and ordered them at a Ping fitting day. I was told my irons & wedges would be about 6 weeks per the Ping rep, but I was mentally prepared for more like around 8 weeks.  Ping called the course this weeks and confirmed that it will indeed  be a couple more weeks. .

I’ve been waiting 5 wks for a Ben Hogan wedge I ordered.  So it definitely isn’t just Ping.

Played nine today and this is my take. I have an 85 mph swing, so use that as a line. I did not notice any clicking noises what so ever. I did not notice any hardness at all. I am disappointed with the so called distance claims. This was not seen at all as they came up short on most shots. I am comparing them to the excellent Cobra F9, the gold standard of irons.  They are accurate, but so are the Cobras. I really enjoy the 9 iron for chips, and the gap wedge is a good club for carry around the greens. I was playing the Volvik XT. The irons make a good sound from the soles during practice swings. They are good looking clubs. I will try the RX golf ball tomorrow and see if it helps with distance.

Played 18 today at Western Hills in Hopkinsville, Ky. Shot 84 using the G425 irons, my best this year. Shot 85 last week using the F9's at a different course Sat. So the difference is minimal. The F9's are still the longest, but the G425 have great control. That bump sole on the F9 really works well, I wish all clubs had it. The greenside control with the G425 9 iron and u wedge is very good as this led to a birdie and a lot of pars today. I felt in control with the G 425 irons, good clubs.

My dealer has been sold out of iron sets this entire year.  His wall display has some Cobra and Mizuno irons, but only 8 sets total.

If you need to order something, he is quoting 8-12 weeks. Crazy market.  Guess that’s why clubs are selling so high on eBay!

Walked nine today and played the Callaway Super Hot golf balls. Off the 6 iron I sure did hear the click with this golf ball. Distance was longer and the temps were higher as well. The irons were plenty long. They were very accurate except with tricky lies. These irons are a lot of fun to play, and will stay in the bag with the F9 as back up.
