Anyone ever play multiple shaft brands in one set of irons? Nippon Modus 120 and Project X LZ

Background: I have been in LZ 125 X flex iron shafts for a few years. I LOVE them with the exception of long irons. I feel like they spin a little too much in my 4/5/6 irons and i tend to draw them as well. 

 

Been eyeing up some Nippon Modus 120x shafts for a long time since they have almost an identical EI profile and the Nippon feel is supposed to be legendary. Cut to last month, i picked up a full backup set of my beloved Adams CMB irons and a set of Nippon pulls and built up a backup set to same length and swingweight. 

 

I love the Nippon long irons. I can hit a cut on command for the first time in my life with a long iron. They also launch ever so slightly lower and feel great. The issue is i prefer the LZ in the shorter irons as they are 5 grams heavier and i have zero issues working them either direction with 7-SW. 

 

I'm considering playing the 4-6 in Nippons and keeping the 7-SW in the LZ. I guess im looking for validation on this thought process. My OCD may not be able to handle this! I also built the Nippons with BB&F ferrules too so now my bag will look real goofy all mixed up!

This x 1000. I guarantee there's not a pro in the world who wouldn't have mismatched shafts in their irons if that sort of setup worked better for them. If you need to get more ferrules to make things look better, so be it.

I've seem numerous sets with Nippon 105s and 120s,  or S300 and S400s. Not to mention all the reduced weight shafts like AMT whites. Go with what works.

Doesn’t Bernhard Langer have many different clubtypes with all his favourites???!  Not a fan but probably the most consistent pro golfer in the last 10 yrs.  Use what works.

My current set has 5 (6 if you count hybrids) different types of steel shafts in my irons/wedges;

 

LW - S200

SW - S300

GW-7 - X100 Soft stepped

6-4 - Elevate Tour X Soft Stepped

3 - KBS Tour 105 X (still testing this once we're allowed back out on the course but might move to graphite, Recoil of some type is top of the list to test)

 

21 & 23 degree hybrids - KBS Tour V 120 Soft Stepped (they rotate with my 3 and 4 irons occasionally.)
