Lincoln Park in San Francisco

Hey all - I've heard so much about this place. I am finally playing this week (in the rain). Quick question - is it walkable or should I take a cart? I know it is a short course...I only have three hours and want to try and get it all in.

A bit hilly but absolutely walkable. If it's in the rain, it may be cart-path only anyways. If so, definitely walk and enjoy the views.

Thanks, Ayc! It will likely be raining, so I will walk for sure. Game time decision of if that walk is w/ bag on my shoulders or my pull cart.

So...I played Lincoln Park today in the rain. Was fun still until I got back to my car...rear quarter window shattered and my leather FootJoy shoe bag -- gone! Granted FJ bag is way less than replacing the window, but it turned out to be an expensive day on the course. 

 

Word to the wise for those playing Lincoln Park when no one else is around...hide anything that looks like a bag/purse/etc. And hide your valuables. Good thing I had my sticks with me.

Very nice pictures but I'm sorry to hear that someone broke into your car.

I've read that since the pandemic started that a lot of cars are being broken into in the bay area and people being robbed as well.

Wow, conditioning looks pretty solid for Lincoln. Haven't been there in a few years; might have to go back soon. Sorry to hear about the car... Seems like it's been happening quite a bit in the Bay.

I was Harding Park and after a round, saw 3 cars with their windows smashed.   Another time, some random guy walked up to me in the parking lot asking if I wanted to buy a “golf scope”.  He obviously wasn’t a golfer and he pulled out a Bushnell rangefinder and was asking for $100.

You would think this crap would happen at Gleneagles International @McLaren Park  ( A must play 9 hole) it's been a few years but in the dozens of times I played Gleneagles I never saw or heard of issues in the parking lot.

Awesome pics. I didn't play much when I lived in SF, but looks like I missed out. 

 

Sorry to hear about your car. Unfortunately, break-ins have been a problem in SF for years; imagine break-ins / petty crime have been exacerbated by the pandemic and increasingly accommodative policies which make theft / crime far less risky to the offender.
