Odyssey no longer offers ANY center shafted putters - Why?

Recommended Posts

I get that the market for center shafted putter is rather small, but could not help but notice that Odyssey no longer offers ANY center shafted putters. I know I have seen at least 3 PGA pros use center shafted Odyssey putters, so this leaves me even more puzzled. You can click all the putter lines they have in the link below. You will not find a single center shafted option..... anywhere.

How I would LOVE a center shafted white hot OG 2ball. Or a Odyssey ten series center 2 ball, like Adam Scott was seen testing.

I can’t imagine being a center shaft fan and not wanting a SeeMore.

Because center shafted putters are the tools of a charlatan.

As a believer of center shafted putters myself, yeah that’s disappointing. I would suggest looking at sourcing one from Japan/Asia. For some reason, they’re more popular over there & some models are not available in the US/Canada.

EFSZ 9* (Ventus Blue VeloCore 6S), 0811X+ Proto 10.5* (TZ5 Proto 55S) & G400LST 10* (Tensei CK White 60S).

0317 Gen1 17* & 0317X Gen2 19* (MMT 80S)

0311 Gen1 4-5 & 0311P Gen2 6-PW (SteelFiber i95S)

RTX4 Raw 52* & 58*, Mid (TI S400); HiToe 64* (HiRev 2.0)
SC Red X2 & WHP 7CS

Tour B XS (normal cond.) / LD V1x (windy cond.)

- Backups: F7 2-3H; 0211; TW-X; IC-601; 716 T-MB; Lucky 777CS; WHP CSM 400g; Sigma G Kinloch C.

From a business standpoint, it makes sense...I rarely see them on the course anymore.

Do you live in a rural area? Do you play any state golf events? I live in Orlando, and play FSGA events... I see them quite often. 1/15 - 1/20 putters. I notice them because I use one. Now granted 1/15 - 1/20 is not that much, but considering there are 25 million golfers in the USA alone, even at odds of 1/30, that is 800,000+ people using center shafted putters. I would hardly call that insignificant.

I think that is the first time I have been called a charlatan 😂 In all seriousness though, my last two putters have been centre shafted. Now when I pick up a mallet putter which is heel shafted, it just doesn’t look right to me at all.

I was a seemore fan first, and they fit me into a center shaft putter that I’m now a fan of.

did an edel fitting, and we basically determined I aimed a center shafted putter better. Edel has a hosel that works like a center shaft, apparently.

Now by your own logic, are those same potential 800k people buying putters every year?  Are even 1% buying a new putter each year?  Now spread that out to all the OEM's that offer CS models and break that down further to producing some that may only sell in the 10s per tear, vs. 1000s for non CS. That is what these OEM's are in the business for, making money.

It's no different than the LH blade market and why options are so limited there, it's not big enough to justify the costs.  If it were, they would surely flood that market with product.  It's basically a niche market.

Love my Sabertooth bought years ago. If you can’t putt with this putter don’t blame it on the putter. It is not center shafted. I seen last week Keegan Bradley golfing with it last week. He used it years ago and I seen him using it again.

3 out of the 4 guys in my regular group use CS putters, one of them an Odyssey.  I'll second the Seemore recommendation, they have a ton of options.
