What'd You Shoot Today?

36 on the front 9 (par35).  However..............................I was playing 2 balls, and playing "best ball".  I read somewhere that this is a good drill/exercise to do every now and then, since it teaches your mind to get used to yourself shooting low scores.

Also playing 2 balls and playing worst ball is a good drill because it helps you get mmore consistent, also teaches you to miss it in the right spot.

Well,

Let's hear it???? :D  :cheesy:  :vava:

An ugly 82! Thanks to the hurricane we have very wet conditions. 3 inch, wet bermuda rough combined with a few wayward drives, made for a difficult outing. every missed fairway let to a bogey or a double! did put up 3 sweet birdies (about 50 ft of putts!)

Playing in an Interclub match tomorrow (if it would stop F#$%* raining!) and looking to rebound!

Played 12 today. 3 reachable par 5s, and 3 par 3s in the loop. A couple of difficult par 4s. Shot even, with 2 birdies on the 5s. Struck it really well, all but 1 GIR, but putted like a dog...

I played in the weekly noon tournament at Bountiful Ridge for the first time in two years. It's a team chicago format. We didn't win anything as a team. I won a $17 skin on #3 because I made a long birdie putt.

Here is the round (78 with a 9 handicap). A blocked drive and fat SW approach cost me about 5 strokes.

let's see...

this week... I shot a 83 at Spyglass Hill.. I was a mix of blue and gold tee setup distance wise but I played from the blue movable marker.

Blue ~6900 75.3/148 so I'm pleased with my 83

and an 82 from the blue at my home course Poppy Ridge in Livermore.

I broke 80 today for the first time this season at Valley View. It was good timing because this was also a men's association weekly tournament (front). I shot 38-40 with 12 pars and 6 bogeys. Not much excitement hehehe.

Here is the round.

I might enter some of the shots if they aren't there already when you look.

I played my home course Club Championship Friday and Saturday. My goal was a 78-78. I shot 79-83.

:vava:

Day 1 round: http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=794

Day 2 round: http://www.mygolfdomain.com/round_view.php?round=795

I had to par the last four holes (16-18 and 1) to break 80 Day 1. I did, so I was happy with that. There are a few really tough holes in that stretch.

Day 2 was just ugly. My first shot looked good off the tee, but kept drawing and went right in the edge of the pond. A few more feet to the right and it would have bounced to the middle of the fairway. I did have my best shot of the tournament after that, though. I hit a 7 iron over a HUGE tree and ended up pin-high with a back pin. A two putt bogey was a good recovery. There just wasn't much goodness in that round overall, though. I even missed a gimmie putt on 18. Day 2's score was my worst effort in the four years or so I have been in the association.

A 155 won it in my flight. A 139 won the champ flight which I play in half the time. My best showing is a 76-77 in the champ flight two years ago for 5th.

I played the weekly twilight at Valley View today. Here are my comments in the round:

Just played a relaxed round strictly for fun. Shot my lowest weekly twilight score so far this season. Aimed over the water on #1 for fun, went for #2 green from 250 for fun (missed way right in the water)...certainly would have hit an iron normally, missed a 4 foot birdie putt on #5, and had nothing but 3's and 4's after the third hole. I was 2 under after #3. Hit all but one of my drives right on the line I wanted. Blocked my drive on #8 way right, but had a perfect SW approach over the trees and made a short birdie putt. Finally got on in 2 on #9 with a 5 iron. Nice upper 70's weather right before a storm came in...just a fun and enjoyable round.

I had back-to-back-to-back birdies for the first time this season. I played 9 holes at Mick Riley which is a fairly easy course. This was on two short par 4's and a reachable par 5. I had a short chip on the par 5 and lipped out for the eagle. Then, I three putted from the middle of the green on 9 for an even 36 hehe.

My last 5 rounds are 67-70-79-WD-71. I'm not exactly a model of consistency. I walked off the course the 4th round after the 2nd hole. On the first hole, I hit my tee shot into the back of a deep divot, spilled my coke on my right shoe and made a double. Second hole, hit a perfect tee shot and flared a 3 wood into the brush and made another double. What a nice way to start the day. Broke the 5 iron and went home. :clapping:

Today I played Washington County Golf Course, just outside of Milwaukee, and alternated bogeys and pars the first six holes, then my driver stopped working and I felt like Mr. Tiger Woods yelling "FORE RIGHT" on holes 7, 8, and 9. I was able to turn it around and put together an almost respectable back nine to finish in 89....which isn't very good, but it could have been worse.

I had my best round of the season so far last week at a weekly 18 hole tournament at Bountiful Ridge in Utah. I hit 16 greens. This is by far the most greens I have hit this season. The greens are tough there and were even faster than usual. I had 3 three putts on the back and still shot even on the back. I had a chip-in eagle and two birdies on the back. I shot a 2 over 73. It was a team Chicago format as usual and the chip-in won the back for us, so we each got $6 out of that hehe.

Here is the round

I checked my stats recently using my Web site and I found out that if I hit 9 or more greens I break 80 now. I only have 2 rounds in which I hit 12 or more greens this season. My stats for August were greatly improved compared to July. Here is a post about that.

Normally if you hit 11 greens you break 80, but the greens were playing tough at Bountiful Ridge again and the pin placements didn't help. I had 38 putts (20-18) to shoot 81.

Here is the round

There is a picture of one of the deer I saw during the day. This deer was eating apples right by the practice green and didn't mind me taking pictures. While playing, a doe and fawn crossed the road and later the fawn stopped traffic because it was trapped between the fence on each side...a dog was barking at it making things worse...it made it back on the course eventually, though.
