What'd You Shoot Today?

I'm like Ty Webb and don't keep score that often so when someone asks what I shot I say "Myself, in the foot". To a "How'd you do out there today? I'll say "I threw up all over my shoes."

42-38 for a personal best 80. Greens were frozen when we started so there were some fortunate bounces. Only two 3-putts, and 2 doubles, but also two birdies with on 18 to finish. Good start to the 2022 season.

Walked a twilight 9 with my son. 62° winds 10-15 mph

3 putted 4 greens for a 40 (smh stuff) he was -2 and cranked his tee shot on 9 imo the woods, got a double for a 36 but kept his cool. Proud of him, except that trunk lid shut seemed louder than normal. wink...wink

76. Blowing an absolute gale....170 par 3 was a 4 hybrid. Greens bumpy and some bare patches if you missed the greens. Honma TW-1X is superb in the wind.

My 18yo took me out yesterday afternoon.  45 degrees and sustained 30kt. Gusts much higher.  Most shots were 2 club adjustment or more. Watched him just absolutely smoke an 8 iron for about 90 yards. Drove a 350 yard par four with his hybrid.  Balls blowing around on the green and freezing.  Loved it! He beat me like a rug 4 on the front and 5 on the back.

Bk, you're a braver man than me. 45° with 30+ winds is a bit to chilly.

Seriously, when you get to play with a son or daughter who can play decent golf, it doesn't get any better does it.

His work schedule only allows him to play on weekends until late spring and most of those lately have been with lousy weather. Amazes me when they tee it up  just a couple times a month and still go low with the score.

Had the day off from work so i headed to course this morning around 8 knowing that there would be a frost delay. Temps warmed up to about 39 when I teed off at 9:30 but the wind also started up a bit. Shot an 84. Some guys that work at the course but had the day off asked if I wanted to join them when for my second 18. My ball striking was better than it has been lately but my putter was stone cold. Too many 3 putts to count. Scoring was so bad that I finally quit keeping up with it. The highlight of my rounds was on the par 5 16th. Hit a low drive that just rolled out forever on the hard and fast fairway. Only had 168  left. Pond is on the right of the green and a group of tall pines to the left. Hit a nice cut that made it through the tree limbs and left me a 15 footer for eagle. Rolled it in for my first eagle of 2022 in my 5th round.

I had a really good round today.  91 from 6700 | 71.7 | 124 | 84 degrees

 

47 front | 44 back   Started the round with 2 pars on the first 3 holes.  I actually had 3 legit birdie putts, two almost fell.

Congrats man. You gave me a flashback. As a guy who could break 80 sometimes, I had a putt for a 69 once. Playing with clubs I'd had for 10+ years that I got used and were 3/4" short. I'd just sunk a 45' double breaker for eagle and was looking at a straight ten footer for a 30 on the back. I looked up and watched it go 3" past and 2" right of the hole.  That's what putts do when you look up.

77. Team comp again. Rained hard for 15 out of 18 holes. Irons still rubbish but hit 3 spectacular pitch shots. Adidas shoes and rain hat superb.

78, hadn't played since early December, just too cold.

 

It was mid 30s but the sun was out so it wasn't terrible.

 

My chipping was terrible but to be expected after not picking up a club for 2 months.

73. It rained most of the way round and some peasants has stolen our club's squeegees. Three man team event...I scored 10 more than my partners combined. No more Winter team events for me.

Par on 1 after a chip hit the pin leaving me a tap in putt.  After that I played pretty well except for driving, chipping and putting…. I did do something I had never done before, 2 birdies in the same round!  The second one was a 20’ eagle putt that I left about 10’ short.  Four 8s, a 7 and an 11 on the card, makes for a high number (108).

Played with some of my co-workers at our course of employment.  Single vs best ball twosome spotting them one tee box advantage.  Even with a bloody stupid triple bogey on the 8th hole, I shot 78 with my new best bag of Ping Eye 2s and won 2up after 18.  Best round in a good long while.

it was quite the comedic round. Worst nine I have played since 2007. 

 

I had 1 GIR and 3 doubles on the front nine.

 

1 eagle and 8 GIR on the back nine.

43 on Saturday with two doubles and a 3-putt - in steady rain and about 45 degrees with no warm up, so not terrible considering the conditions. First two holes were hard to swing the club. Seeing some good shots lately though which I can appreciate.

43-39, 82. 3 birdies which is probably a personal best, couple 3 putts and a triple. Gotta find the fairway though, only 4 FIR, but enjoying the game right now.
