What'd You Shoot Today?

109.  I'm continuing in the wrong direction.  I am playing atrocious from inside 75 yards.  I was a 3-putt machine today.  Also, what's the record for lip-outs in a round?  I had 6.

On a positive note, I hit 3 drives over 300.

Was not expecting to golf yesterday as it was pouring rain until late afternoon. So I snuck in 18 holes after work after it cleared up nicely. Course was empty and finished in 3 hours as a 4 some.

Was on fire, shot a even Par 71 with 16 Pars, 1 Bogey and 1 Bird. The Bogey was a silly 3 putt early in the round, lipped a 3 foot Par putt but to say that was my biggest mistake of the day is not something I am going to complain about for too long lol.

Just enough time to get out for 9 after work to post a round for my mens league. Only the front 9 counts anyways for our league.

Ended up with a bogey free 4 under par 33. its a 37 front, 34 back.

Just knocked my approaches close and stayed patient. Tied my lowest round front at this course.

Shot an 82 from very friendly senior tees. Had a one way miss on my driver. To the fade side. Irons still get a pull miss every now and then.

Not sure. Took the son of my old age out for a father son day at the 9 hole goat track near our abode. Well lost track of my score and my patience wore thin due to my son’s poor play and the general slow play from the group in front of us. Now he’s a great young man but I’ve come to the conclusion that I shouldn’t try to teach him to golf. He needs lessons and I’m not a teacher .

101.  My goal was breaking 100, but screw 3-putts.  I crapped my pants and had 2 drops on 1 hole as well, so screw penalty strokes as well.

84 yesterday and it was an ugly 84. Tripled 9 (straight driver toe shank 130 yds rght), double 10 and 11, QUAD on 16. The only saving grace was the Quad was sandwiched between 2 birds. Was 3 bodies against 2 birdies otherwise.  Had to resort to a choke down, knock down driver swing to avoid penalty strokes.

The caveat was one of the group handing out 4 vodka shots on the front. The last one caught up to me making the turn! I did win the birdie pot however

I straight up can't golf well in the mornings. Seeing as 90% of my rounds are played in the mid to late afternoons, for some reason my body and mind are just not syncing up when I tee off early. Monday morning I got out at 7:00AM which was beautiful but had a rough start, double on 1, bogey on 2, bogey on 3, bogey on 6 and 9. 6 over 43 on the front. Woke up a bit and went 1 under on the back for a sloppy 76.

Played 9 after work with coworker shot 1 over 35. Havent been playing well at all this year and was second time with new irons. 2 birdies, 1 bogey 1 double. Was 1 under going into 9 and guys in front of me leave cart in fairway and walk 75 yards to green to putt out. Proceed to sit in cart for 3 min.before driving off. I go to tee off after waiting forever and the owner drives downnthe cart path straight at me in a new lincoln lol. Needless to say you can guess what happened i slice my t shot across the road and take a make a 20 footer for dble bogey. 7/9 greens. 3/3 par 3s and missed 3 birds within 10 ft. By far best ive played in a long time.

+9, 45 for nine. Played forward a tee and only used 3 wood from the tee (except 1 par 5) to gain some confidence with the newer club. Hit an 8-iron to 4 feet for a birdie. Three 3-putts trying to get used to a different putter for summer. All in all a good time and a beautiful evening, played with a young couple and it was nice to see a new player to the game and hopefully helped her feel comfortable as she was learning to enjoy it like all of us.

Personal best 92.  3 Balls OB killed my chances for a really good day (by my standards).  I seem to have figured out something putting and chipping.  Only 2 3-putts and only 2 bad shots inside 70.  Highlights were a birdie and 4 pars in a row.  7/14 Fairways, 7/18 GIR.

42-40, 82. One of my personal best rounds for score. Just an overall solid round. No real blow up holes, six 1-putts but also three 3-putts. Luckily the rain held off until the 17th green so everything was calm leading up to that. Glad to have a good round and score early in the season.

I shot a 79 today, which for my game is just awesome. I almost never break 80.

It was a funny round, could have easily been much better or much worse. Had four birdie putts that either slid by an inch on the low side, an inch on the high side or stopped dead in the heart a couple inches short. Any or all of those could have easily gone in. I actually hit the ball well enough to shoot 75 or 76.

But on the other hand I made a couple of par putts from 6-8 and one par putt that was 12 feet. I also mishit a couple of chip shots that somehow ended up rolling to within a few feet of the hole. So any or all of those shots could have gone the other way and it could easily have turned into 82, 83 or even 85.

On balance, I say the heck with woulda, coulda, shoulda. I hit the ball good, putted good so doggone it, I deserved to break 80 and I did. So there!

106 on Friday. Have started to properly track some stats using the Golfshot app which will hopefully help me break 100 sooner rather than later. Had 15 2 putts(also had 1, 3 & a 4 putt), hit 7/14 fairways but had 3 8's on the card and just far too many doubles(9). Feel like I'm still making good progress and moving in the right direction though!

My wife doesn't know or care much about golf and she certainly doesn't want to hear a long hole-by-hole breakdown of my round.

So when I get home she asks if I made some birdies today. If I say yes, she says "Good round". If I say I made 3 or 4  she says, "That's a great round, way to go".

I think I ought to keep score like that. Celebrate the birdies and don't worry about the other holes!

Shot 88 saturday morning, right about my average score. Went 49 on the front, 39 on the back. Couldn't get a put to drop on the front and went 3 of the tee on one of hte par 5's (I know better than to hit driver on that hole, it's a headgame).

My goal is break 80 again this season (did it once 2 years ago on one of the last rounds of the year).

Shot 70 yesterday. We get to 17 and I hit a drive and cut the corner on a dogleg right exactly where I was aiming. The group in front of us was gone but has now come back into the fairway. Can't really tell what they are doing, at one point 1 of the carts stops in the left rough and hits a shot and they move on. We finish teeing off and sure enough my ball is gone. I ride up to the group and ask if they picked up my ball. This guy in his late 50's says "oh yeah I did. Didn't realize that was yours. It was like 100 yards in front of my shot."

At this point I'm mad but what can you say? I told him you're going to drive back there and put my ball back and he did.

Shot my best round in awhile on Saturday, 67 -5, from the blue tees.  We have 5 par 5s and I can reach them all in 2 from the blue tees, but there is trouble on each hole.  I started with and eagle on number one, par 5, Driver then 7 wood to 12 feet.  5th hole, par five playing into the wind, driver 3 wood to about 50-60 feet on lower level, pin back on upper level.  I holed it.  Ninth hole, par 5 hard dogleg right, almost double dogleg.  I cut the corner but still went through the fairway, hit 5 wood to 6 feet, then missed it.  Back nine, made a few birdies, but bogeyed the shortest par 5 on the course after hitting a tree off the tee, laying up "safe", then chunking a wedge, had a putt that had to be over 100 feet, 3 putted.  Finished with a birdie though.

Memorial day played the back tees, played well on the front, was -1 through 8, missed a 10 footer on 9 for birdie,  The back nine?  Well, I will just call it an HVIII nine.  I actually eagled the short par 5 on the back, number 16, that I bogeyed on Saturday, but shot 43, just unbelievable. Just barely missed greens and didn't get up and down, misjudged the wind, hit a wedge in a creek, a three putt, and top it off, block fade off 18 that went OB......
