2021 Bettinardi Studio Stock 28 vs 2021 Bettinardi Queen Bee 6

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

I wanted to get some input on deciding between the SS28 and QB6. They are both similar in design and their difference in toe hang is by 3 degrees. If it were you since both head shapes are very similar, what would be the deciding factor to push you towards either putter? Thanks very much!

Sweet spot is smaller and you will really have to have good stroke to get the queen b's signature feel. Finally grips choice. Better to go with jumbo with QB. SS can go with either standard or jumbo.

Aggressive putters fit SS better. QB the opposite.

Thanks for the replies! Just curious what do you mean by aggressive putters?

Aggressive as in if most of your putts from mid to long distance tends to go past the hole a little than to fall short. Pretty much going for the hole rather than trying to position the ball close to the hole.

These things matter as well, but all things being equal, the qb will feel a little hotter with its pace than the SS.

The sweetspot isnt smaller either, it may feel that way but its more of the QB just gives you distinct feedback when you miss, where as the SS seems to mask the feel of the mishit a little better.

Agree here. I chose the QB because it felt better than any other putter I have rolled. Feel is completely subjective, of course, but I preferred the feedback I received. I believe you can get used to any putter with practice to some extent, so feel was the more important element for me.

Same, i had a 2021 SS for about a week its nice, but at the end of the day it “felt” like i really had to give it a good whack to get it to the hole. Queen b feels like less force is needed. Probably 98% of that is really just in my head but “feel” is important, if for nothing else, confidence. Others may like the SS feel better.

I saw this on their custom site and everything lines up with what you guys have been saying! I ended up ordering the 2021 QB6 blackout! I am excited to get it so I can swap the stability shaft off my 28 and sell it hahaha! Aggressive putting is not good for my game haha

I definitely like the feel of the SS over the QB lineup. But also for these two specific models, I felt the QB6 was a little too claustrophobic for me at address.

I'm trying to decide between SS28 and the SS7.

I've got the SS7 and can vouch for its quality and performance. The "roll control face" does take some getting used to, but it puts an amazing roll on the ball and is incredibly accurate off the face.

did you try the SS28 at all?

No, I can speak only to the SS7. There is a review thread in the Tour section and I think one of those guys was testing an SS28. Might be able to pick up some insights there.

Super cool putters, though, overall. Definitely worth a look if they fit your price point.

This is an interesting thread and I can relate to much of it.

I have a SS28 from '19 and a QB8 from '17. Earlier this year, I picked up the '21 SS7. Lately I have been considering on of the new QB6 putters.

The '21 SS series definitely feels softer for me than the '19 series. It went to the bench earlier in the season as I felt like it would be better when the greens at my club got faster in the summer. I tossed it in the bag last night and while it is better, I think the combination of the more compact head being less forgiving and the softness means it isn't for me.

I like the '19 SS, but I might sell the '21 SS and pick up the '21 QB6.
