If Mizuno Pro is actually written on the back of the club as pictured above Mizuno ruined the club, period.  Too busy.  Will not buy.  Please remove it.  Similar to my MP 20's, little tweaks here and there but club looks busy with Mizuno Pro written on back.  Please remove or will not purchase.

Gotta agree that scripting doesn't look clean.

Won't say I won't buy but hoping for cleaner lines.

Hoping to see more pictures and I know someone said they're not supposed to be released until maybe Feb of next year.

They look great... I don't get the hang up on the Mizuno pro script on the back.  Are you building a vanity bag or a bag of tools... When you go to Lowes to buy a hammer are you critiquing the script on the handle, or are you buying it to get the job done.

As long as they look good at address and get the job done then they can have what ever they want on the back.  I dig the retro vibe to it, but I also know the US version will more than likely be MP22 on the back, makes no difference.

Honestly both.

Nothing like looking at a nice clean bag of blades...

Showed my son a picture of irons that I was looking at  one time and he said those look to pretty to hit and I said who said anything about hitting them? Take them out of the car, put on the cart, take a few pictures and then put them back in the trunk 🤣

but yeah I like my stuff looking good and playing good.

Anyone have an idea for how the 223/MMC would compare to the 921 Forged? I played the 919 Forged but, since the 921 Forged isn’t offered for lefties, I’m very interested in the 223.

Different categories of irons. MMC are player cavity backs with multi material construction with copper underlay. 921 Forged are one piece forged players distance irons with chromoly in 4-7 irons. I play the 921 Forged and tested MP-20 MMC. MMC are a little more compact and less forgiving in my opinion. MMCs are also slightly weaker in lofts (e.g. 7-iron is 32 degrees vs. 31 degrees in the JPX) thus you’ll lose a little bit of distance.

Here’s a video that does a good comparison:

Someone called the insert on the PING i210 "the toaster". Lol, this kind of looks like it has a toaster insert in the longer irons while the shorter may be solid 1 piece. Love it. Love the Mizuno Pro script, might be worth ordering from Japan.

So there appears to be an interesting technology story for the Mizuno Pro 223.

For the 4-7 irons, the marking on the hosel reads "GF FORGED HD, CHROMOLY", whereas the 8-PW reads "GF FORGED HD, 1025E".  Furthermore, appearance of the 223 8-PW certainly appears to be that of a traditional, one-piece forged cavity back.

Following the 921 Forged pattern with springier Chromoly faces in the 4-7 irons and 1025E in the scoring irons for feel and precision.

That iron in JR’s bag looks like it’s got a FAT muscle! Feel all day there. Not digging the iron that looks to replace the MMC but the blade looks nice.

@RacineBoxer is right, the MP-20 HMB uses forged Chromoly in the 2-8, with 1025E in the 9/PW ... along with hollow construction, tungsten in the 2-7, etc.

From the Mizuno website: https://mizunogolf.com/us/golf-clubs/mp-series/mp-20-hmb/

"Our multi-thickness Grain Flow Forged Chromoly (2-8 iron face and neck) is dialed in to be consistently hot across the clubface. Twin 12g Tungsten weights (2-7 iron) deliver stability and an easy launch. A softer 1025E Pure select mild carbon steel makes the short irons (9/pw) soft and responsive."

The Mizuno Pro 225 does the same thing, using Chromoly in the 2-8, with 1025E in the 9/G/P.

Note the "CHROMOLY" on the hosel of the 8-iron:

spacer.png

And the "1025E" on the hosel of the 9-iron

I appreciate the insight. Do you think the gap in forgiveness from the JPX Forged to the 223/MMC would be that extreme? What about the JPX Tour vs the 223/MMC? The Tour is pretty darn thin. The 223 appears to have a larger cavity and more weight at the bottom.

I found the Tour to play pretty similar to the MB.  Forgiving....for a blade.  It's probably somewhere between the MB and the MMC in terms of forgiveness and the lofts match the MB.

I wonder if they will keep the copper underlay with the new MB22.  I'm a big fan, and this it dampens toe strikes.  There is much less stinging in my hands with my MB20's over my previous MB68's.
