My first thought was headsize and top line of MP-4 with the muscle of the MP-5

That sounds like a winning formula to me!

So I just had the golf shop call me. I had an order in for the MP20's. The golf shop said mizuno contacted them and said they are unable to fill the order and they're done for the mp20s... This was a revised order from my previous MP20. So the golf shop is going to give me store credit.  So looks like I will be waiting for the MP22's. lol.... I truly hope these are a tad bit "heftier" like the MP5's... I think if they could come up the heft of the mp5 but the feel of the mp20's than it would be a homerun.

Wondering if the insert on the 223 is permanently affixed like the MMC or more like an inser on the Ping i210?

I'd be surprised if it's not co-forged in and permanently fixes like before. Its still an MP iron and Mizuno (luckily) tend to be a little more conservative with those

What do you mean by "co-forged in"? Do they create the cavity in the forging process, then stick the other piece of metal in there, heat it some more, pound it in the presses again so the two types of metal are basically fused together? Something kind of like that? And I assume its an advantage because the club feels more solid, like the two different metals are just one piece, rather than a cavity with something shoved into it (like an insert)? Just curious.

This might mean that the 22's are closer than some have speculated. I think I saw some Spring '22 references in this thread. I know everyone is cranky about club availability and the supply chain problems. Ping is having the same problems (and have been for some time). But I ordered the G425's when they were released and got them in about 6 weeks. Completely reasonable. I would think that these OEM's are pretty cognizant that they need to make sure the supply chain is filled up prior to a new launch. I would think the first 4 months of a new launch is more important than months 20-24 in a 2 year cycle. Perhaps the 22's will be shipping in August-September.

This is exactly the story from the first iteration of their titanium insert starting like 10 years ago. MP 58's were the first I think...could be a model or two before that. Its lighter titanium that the forge together with the carbon steel.

Maybe they're going to take preorders in Aug/Sept but still shipping early 2022. They may have stopped filling MP20 orders in order to have more grips and shafts available for the MP22's

Also I think Mizuno had to at least release some photos to get the buzz going. Otherwise risk players maybe looking to Titleist or other clubs that may announce.

Will Jan be for orders and instore purchase or do you think we'll have preorders around their normal Aug/Sept time frame?

Curious to what there shaft options will be. I know when custom order goes up for ordering on TGW. I'll be placing mine

I called mizuno, just the 800 number. I spoke to a customer support person. They said they have kept a lot of the staff in the dark about the release. He compared it to the secrecy of the coca cola recipe. I guess there is a big meeting in August to discuss all of the order stuff/release. The support person indicated orders most likely being filled in the spring but not sure on Preorders. I'd think January would be a good estimate on a preorder.  I'd love to see in hand pics at least to see how these look at address. I couldn't careless about the script on the back of the club, I don't hit the golf ball with the back of the club...lol... Give me a tad bit more forgiveness, maybe not as clunky as the mp5's but nothing butter knifey either. A little bit more heft than the 20's but have that 20's feel.

Exactly that. Years back they started it. The Titanium is not glued or welded in, but forged in. Steel contracts more than titanium when it cools down, so it shrinks and locks the titanium in.

At least thats what they claim, Im no metallurgist =D

I dont know. I am guessing preorders will be around the end of the year or first part of Jan.. Total guess at the moment.

My understanding is the MP20 MMC's titanium cavity inserts, when heated, "cure/cool" at a different rate as the forged metal. In effect, the titanium insert requires no process to attach to the body, but rather "locks in" due to the different properties of each metal.

Pretty safe bet. If it was a solid head it would be really heavy at that size ;)

I am confused here……..

I have played almost every release since MP 64, and not sure why any credence is being placed on these pics we are seeing.

I may be wrong, but do not think we are getting anything like what has been shown here
