Just got a set of ZX5/7’s… 

 

This has been known and discussed for months now.  Not sure why it's a disappointment.  

 

That said, they are taking a bit out of the Cobra playbook, announce in the fall but hold off on sales/release until after the New Year.   I personally don't agree with that approach, but I'm not in the business to make those decisions, so what do I know 🙂

So is the MMC line(titanium fused into the body) essentially over? Not sure if the piece on the 223 has that or not. 

 

Hopefully they sharpen up the PW a little bit. Always been on the bubbly side for me

I think the 223 looks great.  Little concerned that they reduced the iron size from MMC, which to me was visually appealing.

So they're releasing in Japan in October but the States have to wait until Feb?😪

I guess the Dec preorder I heard about is fine. I don't play much in the late fall/winter 

 

Looks like the lengths on the Japan site for the  221 are a 1/4" shorter. Is that because it's a Asian market?

There is def a gap wedge for 223. It’s on the usga conforming site.

I know this has been covered previously,  but how is it Mizuno measures their shaft lengths?  I need to factor that in as I do not want a longer iron length.

Looks like the 223's will be faster due to the addition of "chromoly" in the long irons based on the hosel markings.  Current MMCs are 1025 throughout the entire set.

Just my opinion but i currently have a blended set of blades and hmb. 3-4 in the hollow body. Hopefully for Mizuno they improved them. They’re one of the worst irons ive ever played personally. Feel wise etc. from the back the hmb and mb don’t look totally different but it’s a major difference at address. The best blend is the mmc or 223 if you’re playing blades. This just comes from my personal experience with the current setup. Hopefully they changed some stuff with the 225. But if you’re playing 221 or blades the hollow body is gonna be tough to swallow.

Anyone notice that the 223 has a stock Modus 115 shaft? Thought they decided to not release that shaft. Maybe just a JDM option?

Last season I nearly pulled the trigger on a blended set of MBs and MMCs... this year I'm leaning toward getting 223s top to bottom. I'm impressed with the blending built into the 223.

Yep, they've done it again. Mizuno is gonna take even more of my money. 223s in 4-GW is an absolute necessity.

The lofts are very strange though. No idea why they went with the gaps they did.

Never done a blended set so question. 

If I went 5,6,7 in 223 and 8,9,PW in 221. It looks like I would need to have the 5-7 bent at least 1* weak, looks like 2* would match up with the 221 irons though.

Do you guys normally get them bent or play them stock

Shipping mid-October in Japan - so expect the first WRX'ers here to have them by end of October 😉
