it was nice to hear them discuss and be honest about delaying product and not releasing just to release. Making sure the ST-G was just right, and not opening flood gates on new item launches just to have delays to the consumer as the end result.

The 223s though.. I haven’t been this excited about an iron for a while. I’ll send my fitter a note to keep me posted on when  all these lines are available for fitting.

Those 223's have me intrigued too...

Was thinking to go 223 in 4,5 iron (bent 1 degree weak for more loft and bounce and better gapping) then 221 in 6-P for flight and control. Looks like the transition will be better than HMB...heck if the look and bounce is good on the 223 and they can be flighted might just go full whack!

Looks like a 3 iron will be available in the 223(mmc).  Hope so anyway, and that it's not a set gap wedge

It’s a set gap wedge. I was hoping the same thing 😩

That's annoying.  Why would they not want to sell their t22 gap wedges

I'm torn between the set GW and getting a T22 wedge. Prolly end up with both and switch out based on the course I'm playing. Choose a T22 GW that has a very different bounce from the 223 GW even if the same loft -- or a different grind.

Mizuno rep came by our club today and had the new irons.  223 is unbelievable looking.  225 was what was really exciting to hold.  Top line is much thinner.  Wouldn’t let me hit them, but they are gorgeous.

Is the 223 blade-looking at adress? How is it compared to the 225?

Did they bring the Fli-hi too?

Exactly, the FP specs are same as for MP-20. So the Offset for MP-221, 223, 225 will be likely the same like MP-20.

I figured out how to calculate offset from the FP numbers. Maybe not perfectly exact but pretty darn close. Just like everyone is saying that the 225 is slimmed down, the offset is going to be smaller than the previous model. But barely. Not sure it'd even be noticeable to the human eye.

For example, the offset of the 7i HMB is 0.126 and the offset of the 7i 225 is right around 0.122 inch. The 225 is 0.087 which is the same as the MP20.

As someone still playing MP-18SC this has me super interested in the 223!

Why is it annoying to have 2 options? If I get the 223's with a gap wedge and you get the 223's with a T22 gap wedge would you be annoyed by my bag setup?

It's annoying that the mmc/223 is the only iron in the line not offering a 3 iron.  I could care less about a set gap wedge or a set pitching wedge honestly.

The 4 iron on the 223 is already 22°, which is basically a 3 iron. There isn't a huge market for 18 or 19° irons.

There is for a guy that hates hybrids and utilities run into my fairways too much.  4 iron in my mp20 mmc is my 210-220 yard club, really need a 230-240 yard club.  35 yard gap between my 4 iron and my 4 wood

Okay, but most golfers don't hit a set 2 iron, which is what a 18 or 19° iron is. Mizuno is not going to cater to the few who may. I believe they make a fli hi in those lofts. As a lefty, always hear from RH members on here is doesn't make sense to make every offering in LH when only 10% of the population is LH. Same applies here.

223 Much more blade looking than MMC.  If you are excited about the 223, all I can say is they are better than in pics.  225 is between the HMB and MMC.  I was so excited about irons I didn’t even think to ask about hifli.  225 is also much shorter blade length than prior HMB which was way too long in my opinion.  The other thing about 225 is the back.  HMB looked to have a huge back section that stuck out.  It’s not as big in 225.

all said, I only saw 7 irons in each, so can speak for whole set.

oh, and the 225 was in a project x IO shaft.  No idea if that means anything, but found that interesting.

rep was cool, but wasn’t going to answer all my questions so I left him alone.  He was nice enough to show me.

Own the Hmb 3 iron bent to 21° and it's still right there in the 245-255 range that my 4 wood sits in. Really don't like the chunkiness of it. Also own the hmb 2 iron, thing is a monster but not versatile enough to kick my strong 3 wood out of my bag.

Remind me what you are trying to accomplish again? It feel like you want a club in the bag but dont really need it.

All this talk has me excited about possibly blended a 223 or 225 4 iron into my MP20 set.  I wonder how well the 223 will blend visually with the MP20.
