Big help to me here. I just recently picked up a set of used i210s and love them. Just looking at the size of the sole and blade length, the 223s might just be a little too small for my competency. Lol. I've had a couple sets of the MP-20 MMCs and while I can hit them, there were just too many mishits. If I want to go with a set of these new Mizunos, I'll probably go the 225 route.

Thanks for all your input and thoughts. Helps a whole lot!

Think 921 forged forgiveness in a smaller package. So definitely more forgiving than 785. Likely more so than ZX7 and higher launch.

FWIW it sounds like in the video they left the lofts standard on the 221 and 223,  so same spin numbers for Luke on each one but substantially more carry with the 223

I think the 221 lofts are weaker, no? I'm already impressed by the spin numbers on the 223 in what I assumed was a stronger loft.

Good to know. I’m honestly hoping this is my next set. I strongly dislike the feel of the 921 forged. Not sure why. Wish I didn’t. I love the feel of the 921 tour just wanted a little bit more forgiveness.
I will be getting fit, but just like to know ahead of time.

So exited to see these pics and that the 223 is still using a 46 degree pitching wedge, so I won't need to revamp my wedges right away if these make the cut.

Stinks it's gonna be a long wait till I can hit these off grass ...

Today I went and tried almost all the clubs on the market. Your feedback helped a lot. You said the 223 is as small as the i59. So for me it is out.
I tried the t100 and needed a little more forgiveness. I tried t200 couldn’t take the sound. I tried apex and apex pro. I found the forgiveness on both to be very similar. I just didn’t love the feel of apex pro and if forgiveness was the same, I wasn’t going to go with apex of apex pro. I tried the Taylormade MC, the i59. I hit the 921 tour and found them to be nicer and more forgiving and better feeling the rest. If the size of the 233 is smaller I’ll lean towards the 921 tour. If I bought today, I would have went with that. I came the the conclusion that my next irons will between the jpx tour and the ping i210 replacement. Forgiveness versus something that would be a little more challenging. We will see what the fitting looks like this spring. Thanks for all your all. It meant a lot

I'm heading tomorrow to do the same thing, at least with shafts. I've played another couple of times with the used set of i210s that I just recently grabbed and they're really what I've been looking for. It's just the WRX'er in me that wants to constantly test and try everything out there.

If I had to decide on one set to just stick with between the i210s, 2021 T200s, or ZX5/ZX7 combo set I own, I'm picking i210s all day right now. I'm going tomorrow to hit a bunch of shafts to see if anything might be a little better for me, but I'm also going to hit some heads like the 921 Tour and Forged to see how they compare to the i210.

I'm also considering just going with the 225s if I think the 223s are too small. The main reason I didn't love the MP-20 HMB was the slightly thicker topline and they didn't go as long as the set of P790s I had then, even with the hollow body. From what we've been able to tell, they've trimmed the 225 slightly and strengthened the lofts slightly. I'm thinking this might be more in line of what I'd like as opposed to the 223s. I'd LOVE the 223s, but if I'm going to give something a real go, I'd probably be better served looking at 225.

Srixon makes a great irons. I game them now. I don’t like hallowbody irons for anything. Hope you have good luck tomorrow.

I may ultimately come to the same conclusion. I don't hate the Srixons at all. Quite the contrary actually. Probably need to work with them a little more because most rounds I've played them, I've gotten good results. And they're the longest set I own, even against the stronger lofted T200s.

I really need to stop buying stuff. It's fun to joke about and it's a whole lot of fun testing, but I'm finding a lot of paralysis by analysis between everything. Need to just keep what I've got or even get rid of some stuff.

It's just hard to pass on these Mizuno offerings. They look great.

I’m getting a new set and I’m done for 3-5 years. Things aren’t getting significantly better. You watch they Will start making more clubs to address the new golfers and forget about the guys like me who don’t want more bladed irons, want a little more to the head, without super thick top lines and lots of offset. I’m looking forward to not updating my stuff for a while after that.

Really like the 223s but they seem quite small.

We’re talking about 1-2 millimetres or less in head size between JPX and Mizuno Pro. Check out Mizuno’s current iron comparison tool.

Read up higher. They are the same size as the i59. The new irons are smaller and more compact then the older mmc irons. It isn’t the same comparison

I’ve never held a i59 so the comparison is lost on me. My rep says the 223 is slightly smaller than the MP 20 MMC but larger than the 921 Tour.

6 iron comparison head length

MP 20 MMC - 77.9 mm

921 Tour - 77.2 mm

921 Forged - 80.1 mm

So if the 223 is the same size as i59, they really aren’t that small of a club IMHO. If the 223 truly does have great ballspeed retention and good forgiveness it’ll be a great club for a wide range of golfers.

Broadly measuring the 8 iron of the 223 in regards to length, i'd say its about 75mm in length vs 76.6mm in the JPX Tour

That’s interesting. My rep says the 223 set is bigger than 921T and smaller than MMC throughout the set in an iron to iron comparison. I’m assuming he has the comparison table or data on hand like we see on Mizuno’s site.
