That’s interesting. My rep says the 223 set is bigger than 921T and smaller than MMC throughout the set in an iron to iron comparison. I’m assuming he has the comparison table or data on hand like we see on Mizuno’s site.

Totally possible that I’m measuring wrong

Good to know. I’m honestly hoping this is my next set. I strongly dislike the feel of the 921 forged. Not sure why. Wish I didn’t. I love the feel of the 921 tour just wanted a little bit more forgiveness.
I will be getting fit, but just like to know ahead of time.

921F does not have a copper layer.

I'm heading tomorrow to do the same thing, at least with shafts. I've played another couple of times with the used set of i210s that I just recently grabbed and they're really what I've been looking for. It's just the WRX'er in me that wants to constantly test and try everything out there.

If I had to decide on one set to just stick with between the i210s, 2021 T200s, or ZX5/ZX7 combo set I own, I'm picking i210s all day right now. I'm going tomorrow to hit a bunch of shafts to see if anything might be a little better for me, but I'm also going to hit some heads like the 921 Tour and Forged to see how they compare to the i210.

I'm also considering just going with the 225s if I think the 223s are too small. The main reason I didn't love the MP-20 HMB was the slightly thicker topline and they didn't go as long as the set of P790s I had then, even with the hollow body. From what we've been able to tell, they've trimmed the 225 slightly and strengthened the lofts slightly. I'm thinking this might be more in line of what I'd like as opposed to the 223s. I'd LOVE the 223s, but if I'm going to give something a real go, I'd probably be better served looking at 225.

I can see the 225 in 4-6i (or the Fli-Hi in 4i), and 223 in 7-PW. Although the break point could be at the 8i.

That's the direction I'm leaning. 7-iron and lower (loft) is where they have the insert and use the chromoly material. 8-iron and higher is one-piece and 1020 forged. I'm thinking ...

4 iron = 225 or Hi Fli

5-6-7 = 225

8-9-P-G = 223

If 8 and up are one piece forged is there a benefit, beyond feel versus all 225,  seems all the forgiveness is in 7 and back?

223 is shorter heel to toe and is a CB - less dispersion, 225 is larger, with more forgiving features.

A few requests

-smaller more compact shape . 2-7iron like the old mp29/mp37 shape ... 8-pw same as the mp20

-bladed 2 iron

-old school lofts

-old number fonts

We all wish. Life was easier with a 48-50 degree PW.

I agree on the shaping.. feel like we're a long ways off from a return to that though. Kinda don't love the new number font either haha.

I'd also add more offset. Mizuno has held pretty strong (as opposed to say titleist) but think they went too far the last few sets. I don't need MP-29 level offset but like MP68,69,4,5... that's about when we were perfect. Just gives the club a better look at address IMO, frames the ball better.

Do the 221's and 225's have the same finish? Anyone combo 221/225?

This has been my plan. 2-5 in 225s and 6-pw 221s. All bent weak. I think the finish is the same. Just hoping they blend better than the MP20s did.

Three S’ avatars in a row ⬆️… What are the odds? As far as $200 an iron. Hey, at least it’s a lot better than the  $275 per for i59s!

But prices should be the same as ten years ago!!! <s>

You can always have the bent weaker.  This is what I am doing with my 223/221 combo set to make the lofts match up.

These higher handicappers using such low lofts can't be getting great spin numbers. At some point it's prob more beneficial from a scoring standpoint to not be hitting knuckleballs all the time with mid irons. But I guess it's relative and they'll just be carrying 4-5 wedges.. lol.

More about descent angle than anything else. Some of these strong irons get the ball higher in the air
