Funny reading the thread. One post, “MP20s were a complete miss”. Two posts down “I don’t see how Mizuno could possibly improve on the MP20s...” haha. Just goes to show everyone likes something different, so play what works for you. Personally I like the MP20s a lot and really look forward to seeing the 22s!

Maybe I'd take the MP-20 MB over the MP-18 MB.  I prefer chrome anyway, which neither are.  The MP-20 MMC did nothing for me over my MP-18 MMC.  The Fli-Hi's are great. And the MP-18 offered the SC variant.

 

I'm gaming ZX7 / ZX5 this season for a change of scenery, but I will surely order an "MP-22 MMC" version when announced.  I already told my club-guy I'm to be his first order in the system once available. 👍

 

 

You might be. I didn't really care for the MP18, but the 20's are just SO good. The best Mizuno has ever made in my opinion.

Looking forward to the pics, been a Mizuno blade player since the 29's. Happily have owned every muscle back that Mizuno has offered since. Great feeling irons.

-smaller more compact shape . 2-7iron like the old mp29/mp37 shape ... 8-pw same as the mp20 

 

-bladed 2 iron

 

-old school lofts 

 

-old number fonts

Looking at buying a new set of irons. Always bought used. I have some MP14's and Wilson FG53 that I'm gaming. Let my son play the 14's and he loves them. 

 

Was going to pick up some 20's but with the 22's coming out later this year I figure I'd go with them as long as they look nice, otherwise pick up some 20's that I'm sure will be knocked down a few bucks. May see what Titleist brings out.

 

Figure if I get the Miz I'd do a customer order off TGW or some place the day they're available to order and hopefully have them before spring

Since you have time to decide. If you haven't done so already and aren't going to get fit, I highly recommend popping into a store and doing the Mizuno optimizer. It gives you 3 shafts that should be a close fit as well as a recommended lie angle. It was pretty spot on for me when I tried it. I may do it again ahead of the MP22 so I know what to pre-order 😁

Lol they stopped making 3i in the JPX line because literally no tour pros using a bladed 3i basically so pretty sure they aren’t making a bladed 2 iron. Sounds like you should order some Wilson staff blades bent weak in 2-PW.

I think it has more to do with strengthening lofts + the newer driving iron market. But I agree that we'll like never see a standard retail blade release with a 2i any time soon, if ever.

Hopefully they improve upon the HMB (TM 770 esque). That might just be Mizuno's most over-hyped, yet under performing, club ever. But, I'm sure they sold a ton of them... for some unknown reason.

My guess is HMB is going to see the most change/refinement of the new MP line. If the size of the head is slimmed down in every dimension without losing a significant amount of forgiveness it could be a huge seller.

From what I read when they first came out the main idea of the HMB was to make a MP iron that would launch slightly higher and be slightly more forgiving than the MMC. That's it. They were not designed to be juiced up rocket launchers like the i500 or P790 which everyone erroneously compares them to.

Muzuno blades are the reference standard. The idea that they make bad clubs, or they are too chunky is rather baffling.

But, why? It does exactly what Mizuno says it does and what they want it to do. For P770 alikeness, the JPX Forged line is much closer
