5. What do you look for when buying a new golf ball? I start with how the ball feels and reacts on green-side chips from the fairway and rough. Then I'll take some pitch shots all the way up to about 75y to see how those shots feel and respond on the green. Next I'll head to the tee to make sure the big dog can send it long and straight. Prior generation XVs cut through wind like nothing I've ever seen so that has become part of my testing process as well. Lastly, if I have absolutely nothing else to do that day, I'll head to the practice green to see how it feels off the putter face. Once I'm done I'll see what condition the balls are in to make sure my wedges didn't chew them up as I like a durable ball.
