They are pretty fun and I gave it a try. They are Great on a flat course, but booze+hills+moisture+golf bike= trouble. 

 

I can't see them catching on too much as rental options given the high likelihood of accidents.

Played a round with the owner of this fine steed. This one is nimble, quick, and seems to be the best to fold down and fit in a trunk, rear seat or pick up.

Damage...the wife and I rented these same type of two wheelers at Oceanside, CA.

Well...she had a brain fart, a little whiskey throttle, and by the time she found the brakes, she was already off trail through the brush and endo'd into a chain link fence. I negotiated damages down to $50 to settle up. My ribs still ache from laughing so much. Best $50 I've spent in a long time. :-)

Found it on Alibaba. The one I got a quote on has the 2000w motor and removable battery. I really want to pull the trigger, already got the go ahead from the club to use it and store it there.

 

There are a few sellers with it and similar. I also found the bag rack for $100 on eBay and a shop here has last year's rental scooters on sale. 

 

The only downside is it would be pure solo gaming (95% of what I do) but would still need a cart when the wife comes with. But it's less than half the price of a ghetto used cart, so there is that.

See a manufacturer on that one? I've never seen one like that. I like the 3 wheeled design.

Yep, if you pinch zoom the wooden deck picture you can see the same logo. Wonder what those skinnier tires would do to wettish turf with a 200lb+ player on it?

A course I play ever so often has them and I’ve used them the last 2 times I’ve played there. Actually the first time I rode one I was the only one in the group that got one and before the round was over the other 3 guys had rode mine and all of them got one the next time we played the course. They are a blast. I wish more courses had them available.

I was impressed, the owner was in his late 40's, looked to be about 5'9", and about 180lbs. It wasn't wet that morning(about 10am), but it was still a little dewey. He had no traction issues on the different cuts of turf. No braking issues either.

The front wheels drive and the rear wheel has the only brake. However, the cart would not coast out of control, and he had no issues braking with that little rear wheel. The manufacturer seems to have done some special stuff to make sure the acceleration and deceleration are kept in check and assists the rider. The owner told me it has a few different settings(mild to wild), and he was using 1 down from max. He was about 2mph faster than our typical cart.

Without hesitation, they look like a blast. In my younger days I could see me and the guys getting in a lot of trouble with a couple of these.
