Hitting balls into a lake

Is it just me, or is there just something that *ahem* hits different about hitting balls into a lake? I've only ever had the chance to do it a handful of times due to location or getting enough throwaway balls, but man. I swear every swing is the best one I've ever swung.

There's a club in my area called April Sound located on a lake. The range is the lake and you hit floating balls which they pick up using a skiff.

A course in Castro Valley California has the range where you hit floating range balls into the lake. A guy goes out using a small boat to retrieve the floating golf balls.

Paint Creek in Michigan (a private club) has a lake driving range.
