I would agree with @nsxguy that feel is more important than anything else and that you can keep your wrists from breaking with a thin grip and use a face balanced putter. I’ve had more success with my 2 Ball Ten since switching to a pistol grip. Mainly because my lag putting has been better- but I haven’t had a problem with shorter putts with the thinner grip instead of the thicker grip. Putting is all about what feels good.

Like I said, whatever works is the right answer, and it seems that is essentially what you are talking about with what feels good.

The point I was making is that thick grips are designed to make it easier for most people to keep their wrists quiet.  In your case, sure maybe it's easy for you to do that regardless of the grip size, but that doesn't somehow mean the science behind the product is wrong for the masses.

Or maybe for you it's not really the size but the shape.  Pistol grips come in thick and thin.  Have you tried a thick pistol to compare to the thin pistol you are using now?

Believe me though, I do understand feel.  I have a face balanced blade and a 2 ball ten.  I have a thin grip on the blade and a thick one on the mallet.  I don't like the feel of the thick grip on the blade and putting a thin grip on the mallet causes me to close the face at impact.

I currently play a Scotty Newport 2 and love the feel.  There is something very solid feeling about impact with that putter.  A few days ago I was in the PGASS in Myrtle Beach to get some grips.  So I walked over to the putter rack to hit a few putts with different types of putters.  I can't help myself with searching for the next "My Favorite Putter".  I picked up the Odyssey Ten Two-Ball Slant model and hit some putts.  Wow, was I impressed!  A different feel than the Scotty, but I was making short putts effortlessly and I had good speed on longer ones.  I seemed to be able to hit my lines and liked the feel.

I never do well with face balanced putters because I have a slight arc on my stroke, but the S (slant) model seemed to work well for me.  Shocker, I bought one from CPO in like new condition and it is coming this week.  I can't wait.  I am not dumping the Scotty, but I will be giving this new one a whirl for a while.

I had switched the sole weights in my Ten Two Ball to 25 grams and was a little erratic with my lag putting. So I went back to the standard weights with a 25 gram weight and an 80 gram gray pistol grip and have had 32 putts the last two rounds. I miss the extra weight on the short putts, but my lag putts have been so good- ACROSS confirms it.

Be ready to put it in your bag and not take it out. My other (previous) putter is a Seemore Z2 (their version of a boutique putter- carbon steel, beautiful look and feel). I recently put it back in the bag for a round and missed the Odyssey Two Ball Ten. The forgiveness of the head and the feel of the Stroke Lab shaft just gives me tons of confidence. You were warned… 😜

My Ten Two Ball S came today.  I took it out for a spin on greens that were extremely slow, so I will got to another putting green near my home with greens that are a little faster tomorrow.  What I did take notice of is the swing weight of the putter is E2.  My Scotty is around D5.  Scotty believes the idea swing weight for a putter is D4, but that was the early 90s when he took that position.  Maltby believes the ideal range is between C9 and D8, which is quite a range.  I am guessing that the light weight putter shaft (stroke lab) in the Ten would require a heavier swing weight for feel.  At any rate if feels quite good.
