I was unable to find this on the Wrx Files and suppose it to have been lost when the software was changed over.

So, here it is again and a Big Thanks to Charley Penna for publishing it first time around. This, and Charley's original are probably the only remaining resource so I suggest that those who are interested make a copy.

Can someone with better knowledge than I explain what "spray epoxy" means for the faces?

I will try--- What I learned about the process I learned from Charley Penna---- It was some kind of special epoxy mix and process--- I believe Mr Penna stated the process now would be illegal under OSHA and EPA regulations--- It is also further speculated that the USGA would not approve since it is a non metal coating. I know the stuff is tough. In all my years I saw only one worn out. That is the Double Duty pitching wedge that goes with the one set I have which was my Old Man's. He carried that wedge for at least 25 years. Did not matter what staff or clubs he played that wedge stayed in his bag. Last time I saw it was in 90 or so and the coating was worn off in the right spots and the face was concave in the center. He had gave that wore out wedge to a friend of his who was an early club ho among everything else he collected. I tried to track the wedge down in like 94 and his friend had passed and his kids had scrapped literally thousands of clubs among them I suspect the only Penna Jupiter Slugger I ever saw in person

Ok so I think I get it.   I have vintage guitars that are sprayed with a nitro that is tough to do in the modern restricted world.  
 

So the FC4000s were flamed obviously and then sprayed with something that is non epa approved today? It would be interesting to find a similar epoxy to protect some of the older flamed ceramics I have that are either wearing, chipped, or slightly rusted.
