Titleist TS2 vs. TSi2 fairway wood?

Recommended Posts

I currently own TS2 fairway wood and looking to possibly upgrading to TSi2.  Is it worth the upgrade?
‘thank you

Having hit both, I would say there isn't much in them.  TS2 sounds a little more metal-like, TSi2 little more muted.  I hit the TS2 against the 917f2 and numbers were basically the same so I went 917

I’ve never hit the TS2, but the TSi2 is one of the best fairway woods I’ve ever had in the bag.

Both are great. Really don’t see much of an upgrade with the fairways. If you are happy with TS2 I would stick with it.

Depends on how happy you are with TS2 and how well it fits. I think the TSi are better in a lot of ways, namely feel. I don’t know that I hit any better but I like it more. The hybrids are where I differ, I think the TS hybrids look better than TSi to me. The feel on TSi woods is much improved, and so is forgiveness all over the face. For a 3 wood you should consider the TSi3, as I switched and haven’t been happier.

Also, forgot to add... I took my TSi2 3w to PGA West a few months ago, brand new.  First balls I hit with it were on the range and it was pretty sandy.  Two shots and the face was already scuffed like I had played it for a year.  I also had my 917 and this did not happen, FWIW.

Haven’t experienced the face issues yet, but I’ve heard others have. I’m sure the next model released will use the ATI that’s in the drivers, which should hopefully help.

I can’t see a reason to change - the TS2 is already a fantastic club.  The TSi fairway just seems like an incremental evolution of the TS, like it was to the 917.

Was afraid to open this thread. TS2 is fantastic when a good swing is applied. No 3W can save a crappy swing. TS2 has a safe spot in the bag.

Came looking for an answer to this very question.  The TS2 has been a solid part of my bag for over a year now and I'm glad to hear that it'll probably stay that way.  As for feel, I really like the feeling of the TS2.  I'm actually looking to add a 5w now, maybe the 21° lofted down.

I have the same question, TS2 been great, only complain is it spins a tad too much for me.  I tested Sim 2 Ti and Ping 425 LST, both spin a bit less with similar ball speed and Sim launches higher.
