I just had a Titleist repped fitting at my local club this week. The rep told me the announcement for the 2021 release should be made in about 3 weeks. 

I got fit for the T200s but haven't pulled the trigger as I'm wondering how much difference to expect between the current model and the 2021 release. What is your experience from the past? Wait or buy?

I'm looking to get fitted for a pair of irons this late summer or early fall and am definitely waiting for the new Titleist to be an option. I'm waiting as I want to see what else they can come up with.

Was supposed to head to our National Fitting Centre on June 2, but was advised that new heads will arrive late August for fitting carts. Given it’s a minimum 6 weeks build, it was a no-brainer to reschedule and wait the new stuff.

I've heard the same thing from a company insider.  Looks like it's going to be a June 21st debut on tour with a teaser coming on June 20th.  They didn't have any details on the design or technology.  I asked about the backorder on current in line models which obviously in an on going issue.  I'm curious to see what the lead time will be to get the 2021 products if Titleist is still trying to fulfill 2019 model orders.

 

I think there is going to be a "window" of get your order in for 2021 irons early and have a "minimal" wait time, or order sometime in early 2022 and take your chances on an extended ETA.

^ I use this exact head set up. You'll love this and have perfect gapping. I bent my 3 1* strong, and PW and 9i 1* weak. Gives me perfect yardages throughout. Enjoy!

I wonder what the feel of the replacement for 620mb/cb is like. I'd be keen in those if they're soft enough... I'm a mizuno fan. I hit 620mb at a demo day, it wasn't quite as good as what I'm used to, however - the sole and turf interaction was simply divine.

Has anybody stumbled upon any images of the new 2021 iron lineups?! I have seen the classic Titleist post with Spieth and Zalatoris where you can’t see the iron at all, but nothing else. Usually somebody has leaked something by now! Was testing irons the other day and came out with a recommendation of the T100S with AMT S300 shafts, however Titleist are saying a minimum of 8 weeks lead time over here in England, by which time the new lineup would be nearing release I assume…seems logical to wait and see if there are any differences in the new lines….

I’m ready to buy a set of the T200’s, but I’m hoping the upgraded T200’s have a more aesthetic design. I emailed Titleist about the wait time on a set of lefty T200’s but haven’t heard back from them. If I could get them in 2 weeks, I’d order now, otherwise I’ll wait until the fall.

Very unlikely they will feel how you seem to like.  Titleist has always made a 'crisper' feeling forged club, likely on purpose to differentiate.  Miura/Mizuno at one end, Titleist at the other with the rest somewhere in between (the Japanese forgings, i.e. Srixon and old Nike's feel very soft while Callaway/Cobras are more middle ground). 

 

The biggest difference between Titleist and Mizuno for turf interaction comes from the pre-worn leading edge Titleist does (as opposed to the sharper leading edge Mizunos have).

The weird thing I noticed with 620mb, was a sort of dull thunk sound . I'd prefer a normal sort of click or crack sound.

I know what you mean. I’ve found them to make a click and clack sound, too.

I thought the same with the 620cb myself when testing, I put it down to being indoors though but maybe not then!

CB/MB/T400 are not being replaced.  T100/T200/T300 are what these new ones will be replacing.  Word is that the T200 has had the most improvement in every category.

It will be interesting to see if the T200 replacement looks like a Titleist iron rather than a Taylormade reject like the current one does.

Sounds like Titleist is stepping it up and/or gotten past the supply chain interruption. I ordered a set of T100s back in early March that I didn't receive until 2 weeks ago--and they had built them with the wrong shafts, so they went straight back!

Very interesting, they have replaced the cb/mb every 2 years since 2010. Well i guess my 620 cbs are secure now lol

The T200 has the most room for improvement looks wise.

I'd bet good money that if they're replacing the U500/510, it won't be much of a change. Similar to the 716-718 TMB. I kept the 716 in the bag until this year and I still see 712U's kicking around.

I love my T200 irons. I think they look great but just one man's opinion.

With that said - looking forward to the new irons and will certainly consider upgrading if the numbers dictate it.

Dropping to 1 utility iron this year instead of 2 from what I have heard. U505 supposedly.

Agree on this. I found the 620CB to feel a bit better, for whatever reason, sort of the opposite of what I would have expected. Say what you want about my ballstriking 😆

If that's the case, I don't understand that move. Both the new irons have usage on tour, so clearly there's a preference between the two, which are drastically different. I hit one shot with the 510 and put it down, couldn't stand the look. I can't imagine a 'tweener' look would have a different result - part of the appeal in the U500 is how sleek it looks at address.

They could end up with two still. All I've heard is that they were going to condense to one model.  Won't know for sure until the reps attend their big meeting coming up.

Maybe so, in fact, probably so. I will be first in line to test though having basically been told good luck trying to get the T100S I got fit for a few weeks back! Wonder whether they’ll launch a T100 and T100S line straight away, I seem to remember the S version coming out a bit later last time…
