Callaway is going to do well on that other site because they paid them the most.

I have a feeling it is against the rules to get in to it, but they recently sent an email and it stated this:

"PROUDLY UNBIASED - We do not accept ad revenue from any of the major golf manufacturers. Delivering the unbiased truth is our only business"

How are they getting paid then if not from ad revenue?

Anyway before we get too far off topic, I did recently pick one up and think it sets up really nicely.  Only rolling indoors for now, but hope to get it outside in a few weeks.

Ever notice a while back all those ads they had for Evnroll? Yeah ad revenue right there.

As for the putter itself the 10 shape is popular, the 2 ball is popular put it all together you get a popular putter.

This thread is actually about the normal 2-ball in the triple track line, not the #10 style.

My bad, I think just a super popular shape redone with the new Callaway tech. You can see everyone gets excited when the 2-Ball is updated.

2-ball is an iconic shape for Odyssey. While I am not a fan of the Triple Track on the putter head, there is merits to it on the golf ball. My youngest daughter (9yrs old) has started playing golf and really struggled with putting. I put a 2-ball in her hands and she immediately got a lot better with aim and pace. I think it's popular from the MOI aspect of it, but also it's the real deal when it comes to alignment help and setting the putter properly behind the ball. It's not a putter I could ever use as it doesn't suit my eye, but I can see where a lot of people like it for how easy it is to putt with one.

I have a Stroke Lab R Ball with the micro hinge that is quite similar. Only has a few rounds on it but so far it's been great.

Best putter I ever rolled. Although I think the Triple Track should only be used with TT balls.

As a triple track user (2020 SL Ten S) I'll respectfully disagree with this. I find the triple track to be very beneficial without using the ball lines, a good mix of knowing where my putter is aiming but not getting too locked into a starting line and keeping things loose. I get too in my head lining up the triple track ball for putts with break. But for anything inside the edge of the hole and inside 5 or 6 feet, it's great, almost automatic with a decent stroke. I don't use the Callaway TT balls either, I use a triple track stencil on whatever ball I'm playing. My two cents! Unless a triple track head doesn't suit your eye - totally fair - I think one can find a benefit to it somewhere.

And, an edit to respond to OP - seeing that mallet win two years in a row validates triple track (to me, at least) and has me very curious if it is indeed that good. I used the original 2 ball for about 15 years prior to last year, so that comfort combined with my liking of TT Ten S makes me curious. I doubt I'd switch, I do love the Ten S head, but I don't doubt there's something there.

Yes, yes, those are nice, fellas.  But what about the 2-Ball Triple Track with the Microhinge Star insert?  No one here is using one of those?

To answer your question OP, it really is that good IMO. I didn’t even know some site awarded it top mallet honors. I’ve switched to the Saw grip (O’Meara style) and it is working well with this stick. I tried the Triple Track 2 ball head to head with the new 2 ball Ten, as I was sure I’d be buying the Ten. I’ve long been curious about the 2 Ball, had never gamed one. So I tested in two different sessions, and both times I liked the Ten but I liked the traditional 2 ball shape more. It was a little less bulky. Doesn’t feel as backweighted. The regular 2 ball is a bit smaller head and I like it.

The Microhinge Star is my favorite Odyssey insert. Puts a fantastic roll on the ball. Everyone raves about the White Hot. It’s iconic, I played it a long time, but I prefer Microhinge Star.

What is interesting is I like the Triple Track on the putter more than I do on the ball. Tried it both ways. And this part is merely preference, but I feel like the 3 TT lines on the putter make it easier to aim than say, a single line, which can look straight but actually be aimed offline depending on my tendency toward an inconsistent eye position. I find the Triple Track corrects this setup flaw of mine. Adding a TT ball bothered me as I was thinking too much about lining up all the lines. I prefer to use an intermediate spot a few inches in front of the ball and roll it over that. So I don’t use the Triple Track balls. On the putter, I am sold.

Funny thing is, I hated the Triple Track alignment on the putters when I first saw them. Thought it looked kind of cheap. But can’t deny how much easier it makes it to aim the putter correctly. When the putts go in, the look of the Triple Track starts to grow on ya! Played my first round of 2021 last weekend. Granted, I bought a WellPutt and practiced the new grip at home a lot this winter. Have a near-center shafted Bobby Grace F18 (excellent putter) and the TT 2 Ball and decided to give the 2 Ball the start. Zero 3 putts and 3 birdies holed, two 6-10 feet and one a 20 footer. That is a good day for me.

I've wondered about taking the opposite approach to what is described above, that is using the triple track lines on the ball without a triple track putter.

I use a single line now, and sometimes I wonder if I have the ball set with the line perfectly on top. Maybe the three-line approach would help my eye with that inconsistency.

I can't speak to that putter specifically but I really like the micro-hinge star insert that's in it. Feels nice and has just enough click on impact for me.

Been playing the two ball triple track for the last few weeks and absolutely love it - the microhinge insert feels great and provides for a true roll. My lag putting hasn't been good before, but now it feels like I'm much more consistent with my distance control.

That being said... I absolutely hate this grip on it. I want a grip that's the same size, shape and weighting but cant do with the bright blue and red. Anyone have any ideas on similar (albeit more stealthy looking) grips for these?

I really don’t think that other site is a favorite of Callaway especially after their ball testing a few years ago.

I like the 2 ball face I just can’t get used to the TT alignment. I’m sure it works and it makes perfect sense if you use the TT ball to line up. I’ve never lined up the ball. I prefer to feel the line and adjust speed to compensate for the line I see.

+1. I am loving this putter too. I’ve gone from initially hating the look of the triple track to noticing it definitely helps me. Insert is great. Two ball alignment is easy.

I personally like the Golf Pride SENSR grips more than this one, or the Lamkin Deep Etch. Not a big deal to change it, but would like to go with one roughly the same weight. The putter has nice balance, I don’t want to disrupt it.
