Well I've messed around a bit this year. Started with a Mavrik Max 9* and Mavrik 4W both with Aldila rogue White.

I've recently abandoned my Taylormade Mini 300 11.5 with the stock shaft and no fairway wood setup.

Now, back to a standard Mavrik 10.5 with the even flow riptide 60 and a Mavrik 4W with even flow riptide 70. I basically learned that I am leaving enough distance on the table if I bag the Mini driver that I want to work on more consistently hitting a standard driver. The 4 wood is just a perfect club gaping wise for me between a D and my 20* super hybrid. I can hit if off the deck and it is also a good secondary Tee club. The stock shaft in the mini seemed to play a little soft which I didn't mind. I also just hit the ball better with a smooth swing. The bend profile of the riptide seems to fit this better. I also just like the feel better than the Rogue white.

We're going on a Minimalist Adventure who knows were we'll end up:

"Full" bag currently looks like this:

Taylormade BRNR Mini Copper 13.5

Taylormade Sim Max 7w Mitsubishi Diamana F Limited 75S

Titleist 818H1 25* Fuji Atmos Black 9s

Callaway Mavrik Pro 7-PW Project X Rifle Tour Flighted 105 6.0

Callaway MD5 48*

Callway Jaws Raw 56*

White Hot OG #1

Srixon Z Star/Chrome Soft X

10* TSi3 A1 setting (currently), BB6X in it now but have an AV Blue Raw 65 TX coming in about a week to try out against it.  Plays 44.5".

16.5* TS2 C1 setting, with the stock EFW T1100 in stiff that just seems to work.  Will be trying to get my hands on a Ventus Blue 7X to try out in it later.  Plays 42.5".

Well, the only thing that stayed the same throughout the season was my TS2 4wd head.

I go between a Ping G410 LST 9* with a Tensei 1K 60TX and a Titleist TSi2 9* with a Tensei AV Raw Blue 65 TX (higher flight and more forgiving combo vs. the Ping) and put a Tensei 1K 80 TX in the TS2 4wd to help tighten things up.

Quite happy with these 3 clubs over all and don't find myself looking around at anything else at all.

Picked up a Cleveland Launcher Turbo HB 3w off ebay at a great price for a fall test. If it is more consistant with accuracy, I might try out the driver. My Ping G400 Max has been in the bag a long time, if the Cleveland driver is in the fw (or near fairway) more consistently, it will take over the top spot. Michigan outdoor season about 30 days away from ending, then on to simulator. I know, I know, you can't buy a better game, but we all know some clubs are better suited for a golfer than others.

Update: My Taylormade M4 3 wood (small head) is still in my bag and working well.  I replaced my Taylormade M3 440cc 9.0 degree (actual 9.9 degree) has been replaced with a Taylormade 300 Mini 11.5 degree driver (set to 10.2 degree).  I am still working on the ideal setting and shaft combination but believe I have it set up ideally for me and it is just as long, or longer, than my M3 and easier to hit.  Biggest issue is my crappy golf swing right now and correcting a couple of swing flaws.  I can't blame the driver and 3 wood for those issues.

Right now it's a Cobra Radspeed XB driver with a Ventus Blue and a Callaway Epic Speed 5W with a Diamana BF.

Driver's working great, but I'm checking out options to add a 3W or 4W to the bag. I'm more committed to the Diamana BF shaft than the Epic Speed 5W head. A 3W or 4W with a Diamana BF or TB plus a Callaway Apex UW at 19 degrees might work really well for me.

Driver: Mavrik 9* Aldila Rogue White 70 S

3W: Mavrik 15* Project X Evenflow Riptide 70 S

Have loved the Driver, between upgrading this season and a lesson, I have never been more confident off the tee. Opted for the Max in the 3W as I was looking for forgiveness and consistency. Super easy to launch, not crazy about the draw bias and have considered trying the regular Mavrik as well. Overall, super happy with this setup

Got on the Tour Edge C721 Bandwagon earlier this year. Hzrdus Smoke Black, 10.5* turned down to 9.5*. First time being fitted after 45+ years of off the rack and bargain bin finds. Switched out from an M6 that I was a bit disappointed with- too spinney and balloon-ey. C721 was a fairly massive improvement. A few months later I swapped out a TM M2 15* FW. Similar issues too high, too spinney. Went to a TE C721 at 13.5* with same shaft. THAT thing is a monster.

Driver: Just moved to a SIM 9* w/ HZRDUS black 60g 6.0 from a Ping 10.5* G400max w/ tour 65s

Wow--what a low spin bomber. Hit the Ping a little straighter, but I was definitely leaving yards on the table. I love how the SIM sounds, too: very muted.

FW: Mavrik SZ 15* w/ Aldila rogue white 70s. Really don't care for the color scheme, but I bought this on CPO off a whim & I've been really impressed. Feels & sounds nice, great ball flight & it is longgg.

I agree with some of the above posters: there are many OEMs who are making/have made their very best in a long time over the last 1-3 years. You almost can't choose wrong.

After dabbling with my various 440cc+ drivers for a couple months, I put my Original One back in the bag.  Instantly saw directional improvement, and even picked up a bit of distance.

In spite of playing my larger drivers at the same length with similar shaft weights as the OO.  <shrug>

Post driver and 3wd with all the details. This is wrx. We want loft and shafts.

Titleist ts2 rdx smoke black 6.0.  9.75* square setting.

Currently hitting a TEE cbx 15* 3 wood with stock Kuro Kage silver stiff flex...kind of want to try the Tsi2 16.5* for wood.
