Mavrik max 10.5 set to 9.5 neutral with Aldila Tour Blue X flex. Stupidly reliable flat baby draw 260-270 carry all day. I can step on it harder but the courses I play don’t demand it. This will not be changing until it dies.

Srixon F85 15 degree fairway with x flex Hzrdus red. The absolute definition of reliable AND a glued neck.

I also hav an Epic Flash 5 wood with an x flex Hzrdus Smoke but it only comes out when I drop the #2 hybrid out the bag.

Original M1 and G25 3 wood. Still under plastic. I set my golf bag up and had some back issues for the past couple of years. So I took 4 years off. Retooled my swing and lengthened my equipment to stand much farther upright. Can’t wait to actually play the woods I’ve been looking at for a while.

  • 1 month later...

Just switched to Sim2 Max driver and 3wood after hitting them on vacation with rental clubs.

I couldn't believe how straight and controlled my shots were with no warm ups. straight from rental office to course. Super easy. Got home, and got the same results in the fitting bay. Also same results the first round out. I always say its the indian, not the arrow. But this was the exception for me.

Titleist TS4 w Even Flow White 6.5

My trusty Titleist 917 F3 w Rogue Max 75x

The 3 wood has been in my bag for a couple of seasons now, and probably won't leave until I cave the face in as it is so reliable. However the TS4 has been an utter revelation. Almost as reliable as my 3 wood, much longer than my old 917 D3, and I can hit baby draws with it all day.

Fairly typical of my golf however, to find Titleist's hardest to hit model the straightest I've ever used.....

Funny, I have found the same. I cannot hit the TS4 crooked. I picked it up thinking great backup driver and it didn’t take many swings to figure out it was really my new diver, lol.

Mizuno ST-Z 9.5 with Motore F3 S6 shaft.  Normal length.  I have a couple other shafts that I am testing (Aldila Rogue Black stiff and Atmos Black TS Stiff).  So far, love the club and trying to test various loft and face settings maximize distance and control.  So far, one tick in higher loft gets me more distance and a slight fade or straight ball despite the listing as a closed face when loft is added.

So went and tried the epic speed 3w at DGS. piercing flight but everything was hooky (only 2 balls went right of center) and spin was low (20-30 yards of roll out). Anyone else notice that and would the max or a speed 3w help in that area?

Driver: Ping G425 Max (10.5* turned down to 9*).  Current shaft is Rogue 130 White 70TX.

Mini Driver: TM 300 Mini driver 13.5* with HZRDUS Smoke Green TX 70

7 Wood: Tsi2 21* with 80gr HZRDUS Smoke Green TX

The Rogue shaft is solid and smooth but I think I will ultimately land on putting the Ping adapter on the Smoke Green TX 60 I have from my Tsi3 driver.  We'll see though...

Sad thing was I really struggled to get anywhere local who could let me demo one - I kept getting a sucking of teeth "Well sir, that Driver is only supposed to fit 10% of golfers out there so we don't have one, but can I interest you in the TS3?". In the end I went to my local American Golf (the UK's big box store), they got one in from another store, and let me try it up against the SIM, G410 LST, Cobra SZ and Mavrik Sub Zero. The G410 was close, but the TS4 was the 2nd longest and by far the straightest, and the only one I could reliably hit a draw with.

Awesome Driver though. It's like a bigger 917 F3, which is exactly what I was looking for.

It looks perfect at setup to my eyes and it’s as forgiving as it needs to be. Rapidly becoming my all time favorite.

Tried TS2 and TS3 as well, the 4 is just better for me. And I’m definitely not high swing speed, lol.

Seems my golf game gravitates to clubs that shouldn’t work for my metrics.

I guess there’s a counter intuitive element there that needs to explored further, but I just roll with it.

So I am strongly considering the Honma XP-1 driver since it isn't outrageous used. There is a lefty Rose TW747 460cc as well, but I kinda like the idea of the GI driver

Current Driver: TSI2 with Tensie Blue regular shaft

Started the year with the G425 Max with Alta Regular shaft.  For some reason I thought I could do better with the Mavrik Max with a Riptide shaft. Should have stuck with the G425 Max.  When I was considering replacing the Mavrik Max I found the TSI2 on Marketplace. Somebody had won it at a company tournament random draw.  This person doesn't play much and couldn't justify having it in his bag.  Got it for $400 still in the wrap! I would say performance wise it is the same as the 425 Max but it does sound and feel much better.  I have said it before but this one actually might be in the bag awhile.

Fairways: 5 lofted down to a 4 wood and 7 wood Ping G425 with the Alta shaft, love them!
