Just like every shaft that comes out, has a high draw, then suddenly something "better" comes out. I tried the Velecore and was not a big fan, couldnt put enough on it I guess. Oh well on to Auto Flex for meΒ πŸ˜‚

You nailed it.....In six months it will be another Accra TZ........Just another good shaft that was all the rage at one time.....By the way, I have a ventus black and a ventus blue that I like a lot.

So the blue is soft butt,Β stiff tip? Similar to Tensei pro white??

Ventus Blue has a firm/stiff butt section but the accelerated taper rate starts basically right at the butt section. If you look at ei profile you will see that it starts stiff in butt section and loses stiffness right away and continues through mid section, and then stiffens up quickly in the tip section. The accelerated taper is meant to help the shaft load easier, combined with the way Fuji designed the Velocore layers and the stiff tip section really makes it very smooth yet very stable.Β

I have tried each flavor of the Velocore Kool-Aid and Red, Black and Blue do not work for my swing.

Β

Swapping between a Graphite Design TP and any of the Velocore’s reassured me that I am a much better fit in the TP (or the IZ that is coming next week).

Β

The Velocore just seems to firm for me as I don’t create a lot of lag with a swingspeed of 103-105 mph SS. Β More of a Stricker type swing rather than a Sergio type swing.

Β

Velocore feels very one-piece to me regardless of color so I obviously don’t load the line well.

Β

Expensive experiment but worth it so I’m not Jonesing anymore to play one.

Β

Now I’m on to trying some other GD shafts as I played the TP for most of last year and have the IZ coming and hope to find a reasonably priced HD to try out.

Which flex did you try, S or X?

I finally took the plunge with the black 6x and glad i did. Is it a must have game changer? I dont know if id go that far, its pretty darn good though. The feel and balance is perfect, can handle smooth and go after it swings just fine. Usually you only get one or the other with shafts. I havent tested for any gains with distance or dispersion yet so that is to be determined.

If it’s Kool-Aid, it’s well-hit Kool-Aid.Β I’ve only gotΒ one Ventus, the Red 7S in a Mavrik Max 3 wood, and I cannot believe how good it is. Might prefer the standard Mavrik or Speed head overall,Β but the Max is super easy off turf and the Ventus feels simple to square up.Β It is so easy to hit it straight and make center contact, again and again. I would have thought a stiff handle would not excite me as I hate for the shaft to feel real stiff at the handle. I like the traditional Blue profiles usually.Β The Red does not feel stiff in the handle to me.Β It does feel stable and explosive at impact. However they make it,Β It is a different shaft. IMO, much better feel than the Atmos line. I am now curious about trying a Red 6X or a Blue 6S or 6X in a driver.Β

I scored a Blue 7x with a Ping tip for $80. There was one photo on the auction list that didn't show the velocore label. I figured with a Ping tip there was a good chance. Got lucky when it showed up at the door. The end of the tube I opened had the tip end first. I slowly slid the shaft out to a nice surprise. Waiting for my G425 Max to get here so I can try it out. The X might be a bit too stout, but for $80, it's worth the experiment

I think The stiffer butt section in the Velocore might have been just was what I needed..

I gained 3mph ball speed as well which had it carrying around 5-6 yards further which is always a plus.

Taylormade outdoor fitting with Trackman in windy condition really reveled the shaft combos.

Β

1. G400 MAX w/ Tour AD DI 6S

as expected, great combo. Mid spin and high launch.

Β

2. M6 w/ Tour AD BB 6S

higher spin and not enough carry. Shaft feels stouter than DI.

Β

3. SIM 2 MAX D w/ Ventus Black Velcore 6S

Turned it down to 9 degree to open it up and it is straight piercing machine with lower spin. Didn't feel all that stout. Actually in between DI and BB.

Ordered this combo on the spot.Β Β

I was surprised at how un-boardy (is this a word?) the black felt. I only got a 6S because I was scared of a 6X being too much. I don't want to launch it too low or feel too stiffΒ though so I'll probably stick with the Stiff; it's definitely a different feeling shaft than I've ever played before..one that I like but will need to get used to.Β

How does a Ventus shaft without Velocore compare to the same shaft with Velocore.Β  I was mildly surprised with the Ventus Blue 5S driver shaft (non-velocore) in a demo driver (TM 300 Mini) and the numbers on the trackman.Β  I installed my Graphite Design Tour AD DI 6S that is in my TM M3 driver and the Ventus performed better for me in the 300 Mini, by a fair amount.Β  That said, while the dispersion of the Ventus Blue 5S was good, I am curious how much tighter a velocore shaft will be.

Totally different shafts, but misleading that it’s so similar looking. The profiles are nothing alike between velocore and non, almost to the point where if one works for you the other most likely will not.Β

The following post is correct. The TM Ventus shafts only share the same paint, they are essentially the same made for shaft Fuji always makes for TM. Nothing wrong if it fits you, but it’s much softer, higher launching, and higher spin than any velocore model. I hit the stock Ventus blue shaft for fun, and it was fine, but night and day different than the Ventus blue real deal. For reference I got fit into a Ventus black for my driver and Ventus red for my fairways, as I saw real improvement over what I was playing. If the stock shaft fits you than you saved $350.Β

Can’t hit driver to save my life so I decided to build a hot 3 wood. Put a Cobra SZ Big Tour w/ Ventus Black 70X in play for the first time yesterday.

Β

For me it was everything it is cracked up to be, stable but with feel. First swing was a toe block that would normally hook but held its line along the right tree line. Next shot was a slight block out of the middle that would normally leak a bit right but held its line that kept me barely in play β€” IΒ think previous clubs would have put me out of play.

Β

Last shot of the day was a 550 yard downwind par 5 that I aimed a little left to account for the block and smashed it dead straight. Hit it 10 yards past my buddies driver for 240 in. Normal 3 wood is about 260 carry for me so this was a freak shot, hard fairways downwind etc.Β

Β

Final thoughts, great feel for how stable it is. Not going to be a club I’ll be able to hook or cut on demand, just seems to want to go straight which is cool with me.Β I was an Atmos Black fan before and I’d say this is a tighter version with more feel for those wondering. I’ve always preferred the blueboard to whiteboard profile FWIW.Β

I’ve hit both models, and I am no pro, but any fitter will tell you it’s not in any way the same. Β I’d be shocked if anyone couldn’t tell the difference honestly if hit side by side.
