1st Betti

Never owned or rolled one before, but I just impulsively pulled the trigger on a very nice MC-3 copper insert. Looks great at address, from the photos, and should suit my eye well. I've always wanted one, but didn't want a heavy modern one though either. This lighter, early model, with the honeycomb milling seems just about perfect. Also, unlike the highly sought after Scotty BB's, the copper on this one is fully machine fitted into the face, without the lazy polymer frame technique Scotty used after the 1st TEI release.

Nice. Do you have face and top line pics?

 

Also, what do you mean by fully machine fitted into the face? Do they epoxy the insert in a little high, then deck the face off so everything is perfectly flush?

Nice, I had a BB8 from this era, copper insert and light. Was too light for me and razor thin topline but was the closest thing I'd get to a TEI3.

Thanks, and even though this was supposedly a Zabi brand putter, I think that falls completely away as the Bettinardi machining pretty much epitomizes his earliest work with Scotty and the mid-90's Newport designs. For intents and purposes, this is a Betti with a third party logo, lol.

Very cool. Roll it well and hide you’re wallet. Things with Betti can get way out of control.  Enjoy it.

Could you pls elaborate on the “Zabi brand putter” comment? I see the “RJB” initials in cavity of putter (so didn’t understand the zabi comment).
