Never see this behavior on the LPGA.     Bummer.

The amount of unhappy people on this forum saddens me.

It's not for them , it's for the ladies in attendance. Take it from MtlJeff, when you put in the work sculping that physique....It's borderline a crime not to show it off   I hardly leave th

MLB is definitely the #1 answer! I was thinking about Colon when I made my post. Funny when you think about him getting busted for PEDs! Think Daly’s on the juice too?! Only if vodka and beer count 😂

I'm a former U.S. Marine so I guess I don't understand the fragile mindset that cannot bear playing golf with some mud on your shirt.

This instance isn’t “ some mud on your shirt “ it would be water filled shoes , and mud caked clothes for the rest of the day.  It was knee deep mud.

Based on this thread, have to say i am just a BIT concerned at our military's ability to deal with very sexy armies.

I've gone down to boxers a few times. Better move than playing with wet clothes, especially on a cold day or when it is windy. Also, let the tour players wear shorts, it's been too long.

Better to take a penalty/drop than go down to underwear on a cold day.  We all know what happens, but your golfing buddies are still going to make fun of you anyway.  😂

I would think it will become an image problem for the tour and they will ban the practice.  A lightweight rainsuit (non goretex) doesn't weigh much and would solve this problem quickly and probably speed up play.  I know the bags are huge and heavy, but stripping down to your skivvies on TV has to be unacceptable at some level.

But why? Lol

As long as the “naughty bits” (in UK parlance) are covered, it’s a very entertaining sideshow.

Sports on TV is entertainment after all.

Even JRose get in on it 🤣

Do you think its unacceptable to see swimmers in their trunks on TV?

I didn't say it was unacceptable to me.  I said to the tour.

Secondly,  swimmers only attire are their trunks, not so with golfers

It just makes no sense to allow this and even promote it, while not allowing them to wear shorts. I don't think anyone actually cares about them going in their underwear which are effectively shorts. It's more the juxtaposition of two very conflicting positions. Some people are aghast and say shorts are so unprofessional and a bad image. Ok fine if you think that, then you should likely think the players shouldn't be allowed to do this.

This actually doesn't happen that infrequently. You have around 150 people in an event, probably see someone do it at least a couple times a year, especially in the florida events which have lots of water and these kinds of situations naturally occur.

Well, I’m all for these guys stripping down to their underwears (as long as we not talking tighties!) and standing in the water like fools when they hit a bad shot.

But I’m against shorts for pros being allowed during tournament rounds.

Ya either look like a pro. Or like an idiot 🤣

No going around in between like some tourist in Bermuda shorts wandering around the Grand Canyon ; )

How is it that some people think taking off clothes is easier, and acceptable on TV camera, than putting on rain gear and not making a spectacle of oneself.  Are they that in need of attention?  Professional, NO WAY.

I only recall one time playing the ball out of a pond, got some mud on my cloths and let it dry, it fell off later, all was good.  I live in CA and carry rain gear most of the time.

Besides Pepper, if you took your shirt off to make a golf shot, the hearts of women across the land would surely skip a beat at the sight of the shirtless silver haired fox 🙂

Sebastian Cappelen removed his shirt at the Honda (2021) to hit a shot out the water. Henrik Stenson removed his shirt and pants in 2009 to hit a shot at Doral.

How is this allowed on a pro tour? You are required to wear long pants but can remove your shirt and pants whenever you like. Ridiculous.

Could a player strip entirely naked if they didn't want to get mud on their underwear?

Another point I'd like to make: These guys get their clothes for free. It's OK to get some mud on your shirt. Throw it in the bin after your round if it's ruined. Your clothing sponsor will send you another.
