M6 can’t be beat- Saving my $$$

New paint colors, fancy new tech terms, and tons of marketing are all golf equipment companies have left.

The driver tech has been maxed out for years and unless you just are looking for a new toy, then there isn't much reason for you to drop money on a new driver.

I think year after year there are incremental improvements and substantial improvements in the clubs.  For example OG M1/M2 were substantial (compared to the R series), M3/M4 were incremental gain and M5/M6 were more substantial.

What about the M5/M6 was substantially better than the M3/M4?

Disagree.

There's been nothing substantial in a while while. M1, and many other drivers launched in that 2017 time frame was about the last time anything substantial came out.

Lol I think OP wants a new driver. I predict a new one in under a month!

So I have my M6 and pleased with it. Always interested in new stuff so try out but nothing has beat it. The last 2 weeks I have been able to have my M6 along with SIM and SIM2 heads to try. I have used outside and inside on monitors and with various shafts. Well let me tell you. I cannot find a combination better then my M6 and Rogue shaft.  For my SS right around 98-101 typically, when I hit it well they were all close and when hit poor they were still all close. Not one stood out longer or shorter not did I find dispersion or spin having a standout. The M6 will be staying in the bag and I will save (I am sure only to spend on something else) some cash. Was a great exercise to do though because now I have a little more sense of confidence knowing I am in a great fit.

Latest and greatest doesnt allways mean better. Its just the new shiny toys catching our ho eyes. When you realize your hitting it the same or better with your current club it losses its glow though. Just use the cash for green fees! LETS PLAY SOME GOLF MIYANE!! said that in a hippie voice.

IMHO, the twist face was done better than the original and the M6 had the early version of the inertia generator.  I thought the M6 was a great, forgiving driver and easily as good as the 2016 M2 was.

nothing wrong with wanting a shiny new toy..as long as you realize it ain't changing your score at all

So wait, ur telling me new clubs won’t lower my scores?! 😱🤣

That said, I will add that if said new club (ie driver) is a better fit for your swing than the old one, especially if the old one was a bad fit for you, it can most definitely help you. I think what you’re really trying to say is an ideally fit 2020/21 driver isn’t going to outperform an ideally fit 5yo driver.

To me, the M6 is one of TM's prettiest clubs made in the last 5 years.

Me personally the all time prettiest club from them is probably the R9 Superdeep.  That club looked so cool.

10.5 deg Titleist 905R with stock UST Proforce V2 Shaft (Stiff flex)
Titleist 990 (3-PW) with stock Dynamic Gold in S300
Taylormade V-Steel 5W & 3W with Grafalloy Prolaunch Red shafts (Regular Flex)
2011 Adams Tom Watson signature wedges in 52 and 56 degrees with stock steel shafts (Player's Grind)
Rife Island Series Aruba Blade Putter

I know i've said it before so it may be a bit broken record, but this isn't 100% true. When you look under the hood at the important stuff you see that there is indeed one part marketing terms and new paint jobs, but another part slow and somewhat steady progress from an actual performance standpoint.

Driver tech has not been maxed out because literally no one has made a driver with a vertical CG on/near/below the neutral axis with an MOI at the USGA limit. I'm pretty sure that every manufacturer knows that is basically the end of the line unless there is a rule change, so they are taking their sweet time in getting there, but over the last 5-6 years we have seen some measurable moves towards it. By design there are very few "substantial" moves as you put it, but they are there. SLDR to the M-series was one, 917 to TS3 was another, Ping G to G400 MAX was definitely another, and you could argue that M-series to SIM was one as well, although a little less so. High MOI has long meant higher CG just by virtue of what traditional drivers tend to look like, but material tech as started to separate those more and more. That separation create more optimized launch conditions from the lower and lower CG, and more forgiveness from the higher MOI.

Very negligible difference between the 3.

Exactly. Now I went from a TS2 with a Whiteboard D+ 60 to a TSi2 with a Rogue Black 130 70. I hit better drives with the new setup only because it’s a better combo for my swing. Now would the TS2 have been better with the Rogue and similar to the TSi2? I’d say most likely. Just wanted the new driver 🤷🏼‍♂️

M6 is a great driver but I see a lot of people noting it being better using the same shaft.

Wondering why, every driver fitting I have had for a new model the shaft changed do to the new driver heads natural spin rate and launch aspects.   Just did that with my current driver and was getting the same distance/spin ...total numbers pretty much but each was in different shafts to achieve the maximum I have for my swing and setup.

Had M6. Couldn't get it out of the bag. Put an Evenflow white 6.5 60 gram and tipped it a further half inch from TM. Big fan. Lot of good rounds with that driver.

Switched to Sim 2. A lot more penetrating flight, less spin, more distance, a bit more workability. Big fan. I'm glad I switched but, I was never complaining with my M6.
