2021 PING Wedges - Glide Forged Pro

I happened to stumble across something quite interesting when looking at Bubba's WITB on PING's website. His wedges used to say Glide 2.0 but have recent changed to "Prototype". 

 

I'll be having an eye on Bubba's bag this week at the WGC Match Play.

I dont get the iron covers for a tour pro. Maybe hes running out of s55 sets

I would love to see some new Ping wedges with different finishes (raw again????).  I'd upgrade again if they did that or at least the stealth finishes again.

Shoot, I just ordered some glide 3.0's! I wonder if its an upgrade to the glide forged?

Tour S Rustique! Been waiting to another in this finish as well.

 

For awhile getting a Ping wedge in anything but stainless steel seemed strange.

Got to do another finish besides the boring chrome color.  Stealth or the Rustique would be great.  At least give us more than one option.

Just found some pictures of Bubba's and other PING staffers bags today at the WGC Match Play. Looks like they are carrying some Glide Forged Pro wedges.

Seems like you are right! From the photos I've seen and looking at PING trademarks, they are the new Glide Forged Pro wedges.

Good find! One question, how do you make the Glide Forged more “pro” than it already was?! The Glide Forged is about as traditional as it gets.

True. It might have something to do with PROgressive CG. Might be a stretch but that term has been thrown around the wedge world for the past few years.

I think those covers are used for fitters/travel (and his post was a jest like you said), most tour pros aren't as fussed as us lot from bag clatter marks.

Lmao. Me too. 8 yrs of lovin’ ready for an upgrade. Old faithfuls still work 💪🏼  I tried to clean the grooves the other day but I left my spoon at home.

Seems very thick at the top on the toe side. I’m assuming there is a CG/forgiveness story behind it.

From the blurred images they look like the current Hogan wedges. Hope Ping see some sense and price them alongside the competition and not $60 - $80 more than TM, Cleveland and Vokey.

Dang I was hoping for Glide 3.0 stealths this summer. Love that softer 8620 steel.

Looks like they are hopping on the Fourteen bandwagon with the high COG. Looks a lot like the RM series wedges.

New wedges will be available around the same time new iron is released this summer. Look around British open

Glide Stealth 2.0 shape and size in raw would be PERFECT!

Totally agree.  I was trying to buy some 2.0 stealths and couldn't get the lofts I wanted with the right soles, so seems like they're running out of stock, which is sad.

I’ve been a Ping wedge guy my entire golfing life. Hands down the stealth 2.0 were the best. Prefect size, shape, grooves, and grinds. Not to mention the softest feel. I keep looking for replacements but they are very scarce.

It's the Forged 2. So don't worry; different product.

 

Glide 4's on the other hand...
