How many brands are in your bag?

Recommended Posts

So there was the “One Brand Bag” thread, and I figured this question would be more appropriate for WRX’rs.

I was starting to have an almost all TaylorMade bag until I got a fitting last week and found out my irons were too short. I also realized over the last couple of months that I prefer other brands to TM for wedges, Drivers, Hybrids, and Woods.

Now my rebuilt bag is full brand agnostic with 5 brands (4 if you count Srixon and Cleveland as the same brand). Once my orders are delivered, I’ll have:

Callaway (Driver)

Sub 70 (3W)

Srixon (Hybrid, Driving Iron, Irons)

Cleveland (Wedges)

TaylorMade (Putter)

How many brands are in your bag this year and what are they?

Yeah, the question should have been stated as "How many brands are in your bag for today's round (not legally binding after 24 hours)".

Should've done a poll, but just calculated the numbers since the responses are starting to slow down and had some time. For simplicity, I counted Srixon/Cleveland, and Callaway/Odyssey as 1 brand, and

Same.  I at times say I'm going to "switch it up" and yet somehow come down to 1 or 2 brands in my bag.  Usually Titleist or a mix of Titleist and Mizuno, but recently somehow TM took over my bag.  It

Currently just 2 with the possibility of a 3rd depending on putter.  Titleist driver, 4wd, hybrid, DI, wedges and possible putter if I don't have the Sik putter in.  Ping for the irons.

Will on occasion have just 1 brand, being all Titleist when I have my 718 MB's in the bag.

I never set out for matching brands, but that's how it ended up.  Titleist woods, irons, wedges, ball, even bag.  My glove is normally Titleist too, but somehow Footjoy snuck in there.  Go figure.

In retrospect - my bags seldom have more than 2 brands, it's my DNA.  I have played a different ball or had different wedges, but that's about it.

Based on what's in my sig, 3, but likely to be 4 if I swap the fairway wood.

Cobra: Driver, fairway, driving iron, LW.

Srixon/Cleveland: 4-SW

Assuming it behaves on the course, the Cobra fairway will get replaced by a Mizuno.

4 right now...

Callaway Driver

Adams 3 wood

Adams Hybrid

Sub70 4 utility

Sub70 5 iron to fill a gap

Adams CMBs 6-GW

Sub70 54 and 58

Seemore Putter

There are some replacements in the works, but they don't add to the count (3 wood replaced by an Adams driver, hybrid replaced by a Sub70)

Callaway is the only brand I have 0 loyalty to... I won it in a contest, and it's fine, but it replaced a Cobra driver.

SeeMore putter will hopefully be my putter forever.

Adams will eventually wear out and be replaced... honestly, if the used market wasn't so insane right now, I'd buy a back set.

Sub70? I'm not sure on... maybe they will stay the same small company that makes amazing stuff and has stellar customer service... Maybe they will over expand and I'll abandon them for a smaller company... Who knows?

Usually 4

Ping driver but sometimes my old Nike.

Ping fairway wood

Ping hybrid or driving iron (Crossover)

Scotty Cameron/Titleist putter but sometimes Mizuno, Ping, Odyssey/Callway, or Bettinardi

Taylor Made irons

Cleveland wedges

However, in the bag, I've always had at least one Ping club and Cleveland wedges.
