Omaha Golf- Membership and Tourneys

Looking for some insights on Omaha golf. In the past I’ve been a member at smaller private tracks. Affordable and can get out a play a quick 9 holes just about any day after work. Any insight on what my best options are here in Omaha? Also I love to play competitive golf as well. I want to be able to play in 2-3 true competitive events every year but so far I’m having trouble finding anything here in Omaha. Any tips on where to look or any events I should try and sign up for?

Competitive golf ... check out the NGA site, they have a list of many events. The first ones that come to mind are the Ashland Open, Oakland Open, Indian Creek Invitational (play-in to the Korn Ferry event), Omaha city championship ... there are plenty out there.

Stetson mentioned some of the public events and there's quite a few public courses, but availability for 9 holes will depend on leagues, etc.  Obviously some of the private courses will have their own events, but it'll depend on your budget and area of town..

 

If you are looking for affordable private tracks:  Midtown or downtown...affordable options would like be Field Club or Council Bluffs CC.  Down south (Bellevue) you'd have Platteview CC.  West Omaha...I'd say Deer Creek is more of a cost conscientious private club, but with a 27 holes and some nice amenities.  East of Council Bluffs is Bent Tree which is a semi-private course...but it's a bit of drive if you live west of downtown.

 

Outside of those...the bigger and more expensive private options in Omaha will be Omaha CC (North Central Omaha), Champions (West Omaha), Shadow Ridge (Elkhorn), Happy Hollow (West/Central Omaha), Oak Hills CC (Southwest Omaha).
