I put in a Callaway Full Toe 60 degrees in place of my Vokey SM8, definitely didn't think I was going to move away from Vokey until I saw the shaping of the Full Toe.  Still getting used to the feel, but working well for now.

HYBRID: TITLEIST TS2 3H 19.0

I think my SIM Max driver is getting me to places to use my Ping G710 irons or my RTX Raw wedges to stick it close and use my Mizuno V Putter with the P2 Grip to score.   Lots of love for everything in the bag now so it's hard to pick a favorite.  But, I have been driving the ball really well since the SIM MAX went in the bag.  I mean I will try things out here and there but really nothing beats it right now.

I did chop an inch off the butt of the stock Ventus Red and added a heavier weight to it from billy bobs and it's been far more consistent for me than anything I have tried to beat it with.

My Callaway MD5 64 Degree wedge. I was fortunate to get a free wedge and fitting as part of a member-guest. Took a flyer to see if it might be useful for my home course, which has tiny, fast greens with a lot of slope surrounded by deep greenside rough.

It's amazing what this thing can do on short-side chips and pitches. The 50-60 yard shot that basically stays in it's pitch mark no matter how hard the greens get is an added bonus.

put Ping G410 7 and 9 woods in the bag.  So easy to hit, for me much better than 4 and 5 irons.

Ping G410 7 & 9 woods

Titleist T350 irons

After experiencing with a Ping i25 7-wood as I was never able to hit any kind of hybrid and I tried many, I bought a 90€ Inesis Hybrid 500 with a stiff Recoil shaft with 24 degrees of loft.

For those in Europe, take a look at it and do not be a snob, the hybrid is great, crisp feeling, rather smallish head, workable and goes high.

For that price I may even buy the 20 degree one and replace my 5 wood.

I am decent at hitting a four iron and the 7 wood may go longer but this is a good club at a good price.

I used to see a few mentions of the I25 7w but they never seemed to be available for retail. That is a club I would have been interested in.

Without a doubt it's been my Tour Edge ES521 Hybrids. If there is a more controlled , easy to hit hybrid on the market I've yet to hit it. What surprised me the most is the solid feel. I believe they are the most underrated hybrid on the market by a landslide.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've changed almost my entire bag this year but I think it would have to be my Edel 58* that I got in the giveaway here. I had given up on my 60* previously since I was no longer getting along with it. After I won the Edel and put it in play it's been the only club I use within 80 yards of the green. So reliable and easy to hit. I've been tempted to sell my T20 54* that I got earlier this year and replace it with another Edel.

Biggest surprise is that I put a Ping club in my bag. Did not see that coming. Went to a fitting and they asked if I wanted to try anything specific. I said I just want the one that works best for me. Told them I want a couple specific things out of it and it turned out to be a Ping. Never had a ping club before.

The biggest surprise change/addition for me was putting a PXG driver in my bag! I just could not ignore the price of the 0811X+ Prototype driver compared to everything else out there. I think my Epic Flash may be a little longer comparing center hit to center hit, but the PXG is more consistent for me.

The 2nd biggest surprise is that I am now considering PXG irons, 0211DC to be precise.

At age 33 I've come to embrace hybrids. I started the year with two. I'm up to four and may not be done. 18* - 21* - 24* - 28*. I simply hit more greens with them. My handicap has never been better.

A 56° wedge.  Not that this is all that shocking, in and of itself.  What is surprising is that it is currently my highest lofted wedge.

I am fully committed to picking better targets into greens and smarter shot selections around greens, even if I have to remove every high-lofted wedge in my bag to make the point to myself, lol!

Definitely these j38 CB's, built them simply for fun as a backup set.  Turns out they're the favorite set of irons I've owned......and we're talking at least 40 sets🤣

That 3 wood is amazing! I was playing with another guy a few weeks back who also had one. He looked at me when I pulled mine out and said "Man, that PING 3 wood is a cheat club!" I agree. Straight, spins the right amount, and plenty hot off the face.

For me, the biggest surprise is my TSI3 driver. First Titleist club outside of a short lived experiment with Vokey wedges years ago.

Titleist TSI3 8°, Xcaliber Avalon 6 tour stiff, tipped 1", C3 surefit and H2 for backweight, D1 SW, 45 3/8", 40g counterbalance weight;

PING G425 LST 3 wood, set at 13.5° Xcaliber T6* tour stiff, tipped 1 1/4" 43 1/2", D1, 20g counterbalance weight;

Snake Eyes 19° Quick Strike Tour, Xcaliber T6+ Tour Stiff, 20g counterbalance weight;

Maltby TS-1 irons, Dynamic Gold Sensicore X100 (4i is DG X100 soft stepped 1.5 times), D3, 2° flat;

Cleveland RTX Zipcore wedges, black satin, 50°, 54°, 58°, all 2° flat;

Ping TR series Anser 5, 33", 2° flat, 1.5° strong, 75g optivibe at 2" down the shaft and a 12g tourlock pro+ counterweight

Srixon Z Star XV, TP5X, or Maxfli Tour X
