How is walking sylvan glen? And at the courses open in the winter so they still have walking carts? The past season was my first full year of golf and I’ve never walked a course. I’m afraid I’d be to gased to walk 28 holes. Plus add the cold air.🥶

Sylvan is great to walk. It’s generally walking only, and when it’s cold, walking is a great way to stay warm.  They do have pull carts out that are available.

No shame in walking 9 to see how you do.  I do that often in the offseason.  Even used to play a course where I could walk a loop of 4.5 holes.

RIP Ping G410 LST.  Never had a driver head crack so bad!

Don't worry, replacement head on the way from ebay.

Sylvan is flat and a pretty easy walk. I remember early covid restart of golf and walking Metamora, Copper Hills, and Westwynd. Those were not easy walks!

Damn, KB, you need to dial back that swing speed -- that is one hell of a destroyed head! Seeing that makes me glad that I got a backup head a couple years ago. The last half of the year, I drove it the best I can remember for an extended period, and I'm planning to stick for the G410 LST for a while, unless the heads explode like yours did.

there’s no way I could walk the back 9

That's a huge challenge to walk the back 9 at Lapeer.    We usually put the golf carts in neutral and the cart must go about 25mph or so down from #12 tee.

From looking at Facebook it seems like a ton of people got out for some golf today, it was certainly nice enough.  Keeping fingers crossed that the forecast for Sunday stays decent.

Yea Sunday is the only day I can get out in the winter as well.

My old man swing speed defintely didn't cause it.

Haven't seen anything specific for Sunday but I have read multiple reports of Saskatoon and The Mines being open this week.  9 holes at Maple Hill walking.  Moss Ridge in Ravenna.

Was it a weird strike or something? I have never seen a head break like that.

No, it was right in the middle of the face. I was hitting a few drives inside for the first time during the winter and the Ball Speed on the first two were not great on good strikes, but I figured it was just the 7 week layoff from swinging.  The next, the ball speed was horrible on a solid strike and I was confused till I tooked at the head. I am guessing there was a small crack I didn't see before and then it just broke open.

Hey guys which course:

Champion Hill or Manistee National?

Need to add something to an Arcadia/Hemlock trip.  Thanks!

Champion Hill would be my choice. Crystal Mt has a couple fun courses as well. Depending on where you are staying even making the drive up to Suttons bay is worth it.

Guess lapeer country club is allowing carts so if it doesn’t snow like crazy and stays somewhat nice. Looks like I’ll be going Sunday👍🏻🤞☀️🌞☀️🙏

I saw a cart out there Wednesday (4th hole).   It may have been cart path only.   IDK

Had a G400 Max that cracked in the same place during a winter round a few years back. 40 degree temps are hard on thin steel.

Golf show in GR is next weekend, probably going to go Sunday before the Super Bowl.   No idea why, I don't really have anything that I'm looking to buy, I've been often enough to know most of the courses that will be there.  Might just be spring fever setting in.

I'll probably go to the one in Novi. It's fun to go with a few buddies, grab a beer and wander around. I usually buy balls if nothing else.

Looking for a good track near Gaylord or further north as a round to break up our drive for our UP trip.  Last year we played Black Lake which worked out well but want something different this time.  The Tribute seems to get good reviews here so that’s the favorite so far.  Has to be close to 75 but no Treetops or Boyne courses.
