Swing weight and weight transfer.

I use the orange whip as a warm up tool and to improve my sequencing.

The heavy head and flexible shaft make me xfer my weight and start the downswing from the ground up.

If I increased the swing weight of my clubs would that give me the same awareness of the clubhead and help me take the whip rhythm to the course?

I've got some lead tape on the way to try but wanted you guys opinion.

Practice clubs like Orange whip are really head heavy to assist in learning weight transfer.  Swing weight is for head awareness.  You can increase swing weight to help feel the head, but I wouldn't do it to help transition.  Really heavy SW (like D5+) can have a derogatory effect on how you feel the club head and play.

 

The swing weight of my 2i is D1 and 3-9 is D2; all configured for where the head is in my backswing.   But my PW is D3, 52' is D5+ and 58' is E0.  Swing weight is progressive and those 3 clubs are 36" length, same as my 9i, for feel.

Depends...it's not just swing weight but the balance point.  Having a heavy bulky head on a lighter shaft as in the OW will give you more awareness of the head which is beneficial for what the OW is trying to accomplish.  If you have a higher SW with a higher balance point (toward grip) then you will feel the whole club more than just the head.  In general, a higher SW will help feel the head a little more....but be careful as some people can't handle a higher weight and it will hinder ability to produce speed.  Everyone is different though...I like a D5 swingweight on my irons/wedges and a D2 on driver....some are opposite, some like both lighter.  

 

Also, it may help you to not think of a weight shift in the golf swing....focus more on pressure shift....working on weight shift can have disastrous results as the body interprets your head as the primary weight mover...pressure s*** is more subtle and reflects what should be happening.
