Srixon Q-Star Tour Divide - new "50/50" matte balls

Oh hey, I really like the way these play. They are WAY out of my price range, but seeing the rotation in your chips and puts is nice. If they do a regular Q Star, I'm on board. But I know these weren't cheap to make.

So I was able to try these out this evening in my neighbor’s pasture/3 hole course/outfield (long story short: there are lights)  They were very easy to track, easier than a solid yellow. It would seem to “flicker” as the ball rotated.   They felt good too.  I may play them next time.

If they offer these as part of their BOGO promotion this Father's Day, I might have to pick up two dozen. Maybe even more if the Z-Star XVs get released by then, too.

Interesting. I didn't think about the flicker effect but it makes sense that it would look almost like a beacon when flying through the air. Might have to grab a box for those late rushes back into the clubhouse after getting stuck behind the monday night men's league.

I really hope the half-white versions make it to the USA. I think that'd be the best compromise of visual benefits and a somewhat passable look.

These cause me to wonder about the rules governing golf ball markings, colors, etc.

For instance, I can't recall a manufacturer printing an alignment line that went more than halfway around the ball. Would that be legal? If so, what about a line made from a different colored cover that went all the way around the ball?

There's no rule against a line going all the way around the ball

I really wish these were cheaper. The Eclipse are bad and I'll lose them soon enough.

Tried to play these today. Lost one the 1st hole and 2 the second hole. Went back to pro vx and didn’t lose one the rest of the round.  It must have been the ball’s fault.

I still haven't hit one with the driver but I was hitting greens with 4, 5, 6, and 7 today with them. I love the feeling off the blade, I just wish they were cheaper so I wasn't afraid to lose it.

Nitro offered a wide variety of combinations of colors for a few years. I used them in the rain when spin, or the lack of, wouldn’t be an issue.

Bought a box and put them in play today.

The ball feels great and plays great. It looks like a bobber for fishing. Totally ridiculous! But easy to track in the air and find in the rough.

I didn’t have a great putting day today. I did use the line like I normally use a drawn line on the ball. A fatter line is somehow easier to line up IMO. The thin line of the Divide doesn’t line up as naturally for me. I didn’t start every putt online today and it’s a little disconcerting to see the wobble. But that’s on me and my crap putting.

I really would prefer at least half the ball to be white. I hope that version makes it to the USA. These look goofy. I do like using them to make it awkward with my buddies.

Hit one with the driver, a little slice and gone forever. Didn't think I could lose it on that hole, but I was wrong. That was disappointing.

Played two rounds with these this weekend. it is easier to follow the flight of these that just white or just yellow.  lost two during second round: one went into the woods and its to snaky

around here for going after it, and the second I believe was picked up by an ***hole who couldn't leave it alone. they are easy to find. i like the way they feel off my clubs and they don't dirty up to much.

I have been beating them with long and mid irons and love them. So far durability seems great, too.

I must have discovered I’m color blind by using these. Everyone says they are easy to track but I personally cannot find these things to save my life. I love the way they feel, but I lost a full sleeve on two holes on shots barely off the intended line. Would totally give them a try in different color variations though.

The one I lost was between 2 fairways, not like I hit it into the woods. Ghost, I thought no way am I losing it here... That was my first mistake.

I don't NEED any golf balls, I probably have 7 dozen in reserve and I maybe lose a couple every other round. Still I sent the 3-for-2 link to my daughter as a Father's Day idea. I can see these balls being my go-to's for some time, especially if they bring out a white/yellow or white/orange version.

The conforming list only shows the variations with white for the Z-Star and Z-Star XV.  Also, it's not clear when or if any of the divide balls beside the QST red/yellow will be available for North American and European markets.

Right. I'm hopeful that they'll adjust their strategy if these become more popular than planned.

I’ll try anything that’s not outrageously priced. I have no golf snobbery. (Except for the full bag of one brand slapped in the same brand bag. HaHa!) I got a dozen at EW a couple of months ago to try on the practice putting green. Great. So I went out on the course with a few to test. Keep in mind I have played QSTs for a couple of years. My take on the course was that they have a noticeably lower compression or feel. Don’t know about anyone else finding this but although I like the softness of the regular QST this ball was to soft.
