Berkshire has signed with Cobra Radspeed

Saw yesterday on Instagram that Kyle Berkshire is now joining his buddy Bryson with Cobra/Radspeed. Interesting move by Cobra.

Shame he has to cut his hair tho, Cobra said it was too Rad and was going to make them look bad.  They didn't want to have the next gen called Radier...

I think it's a smart move by Cobra... both picking up the top long drive guy and hopefully filling the void for a major OEM in the Long Drive game... Adams used to be in the space, and Callaway was making heads but not much else... I think having long drive guys "inform" their head designs could be a fun change and an interesting way to differentiate themselves... 

 

They've toyed around in the space a little bit with things like the Long Tom... the Cobra LTD Pro was a monster of a driver, so hopefully they make more stuff like that.

 

I ASSUME they have something in the chamber for next year... I don't know why they'd sign Berkshire if they didn't... 

 

I'm really hoping they come out with something fun next year...

In the grand scheme of things, he likely doesn't cost that much and has a growing fan base.  Young, presents well in his videos, easily marketable.  Easy signing.

Yeah, I can’t imagine it was that expensive... but still, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to sign a long drive guy unless you are going to provide some long drive equipment...

 

Maybe they were already developing heads for Bryson. 
 

Adams released actual king drive heads... and I like to believe their “regular” heads were improved by that process... i still love my fast 12 ls head.

 

the signing would make a ton of sense if they were releasing new heads built for high speed swings...

Cobra was actually the first major OEM to make long drive specific heads. Adams took over after them, then Callaway. So it’s not a new venture for Cobra.

Yeah... they also have Bryson, so hopefully they’ve been working on a head that meets his needs. 
 

With the pro ltd they already have a good starting point. Just draw some racing stripes on it and throw a popular new shaft in it and call it the longer Tom.

Great guy to watch on youtube.  Interested to see if he will stick with old Cally 1-2 irons or if Cobra will have something for him at that top end as a non-wood guy.

I don’t think cobra will care what irons he plays, but I’m sure they can make him something.

Likely easier to work with than RF and his 87 or what ever it is versions of his latest blade.
