Anyone have experience with Galaxy Watch Active2, (Golf Edition)?

I just did an impulse purchase thinking it's a good buy. 

Did not find detail reviews of the watch (Especially the golf version)..

How is it compared to other watches that are specialized in Golf.

Need to know if it's worth keeping or return it..

 

I paid $120 from Samsung (New)..

I think it's $80 with tradein..

I have a galaxy watch 3, and the Smart Caddie golf app on it is great. I basically stopped using my garmin g80 as the watch was always within a yard, and i usually believed it more since its where my ball is, not where my bag is. It also gives you a satellite view of the hole, distances to most major features, and you can enter scores in to it to keep for you.

I just went to the Samsung website and it is $270 without a trade in, to get it for $120 you would have to trade an Apple Watch Series 5.  (These amounts are if you are talking about the Active2 Golf Edition, if you just buy a standard Active2 without golf and without trade in the watch is $220.)

 

I do have the Active2 Golf Edition and it works pretty good only sometimes the distances don't update as fast as my old Garmin watch did.

Generally Smart Caddie on the Golf Edition is very good. It's my primary yardage tool even though I have a laser capable of slope.

 

There are some nice features: auto advance on holes, a hole aerial overview with positioning marker (a bit cumbersome though), and greens heat maps. I don't use the scorecard but its also a nice feature. Quite accurate when its running properly.

 

But sometimes it doesn't. My last round, everything was off by 10 yards every hole until I got to hole 17. That's never happened before. But its the first round after a recent watch update. Hopefully just a one off glitch. Will try again soon.

 

Got it for $270 on Amazon. I highly recommend it. Cheaper than many good Golf GPS watches and because its a smart watch, its better.

What is battery life like on this? I play 36 holes some weekends and am concerned I may not get through that with the Active2. I'm comparing and deciding between the Active2 golf edition and the Garmin Venu. I'm wanting more "smartwatch and fitness tracker that also does golf", and less just dedicated golf watch, so these 2 are attractive. The battery life on the Venu has me leaning that way somewhat, but I can't decide.

I haven't played 36 with it, but generally end the day around 65% battery.  Have been using since Christmas

I want to get a regular smart watch, not the golf edition.  I have been trying to find screenshots of what some of the apps look like on it and it hasn't been easy.  I want one a little bigger than the golf edition watch though, so hoping the galaxy 3 watch will have something good.

I have the normal Galaxy Watch Active2. I was quite happy using it with the Taylormade MyRoundPro app. It's pretty impressive for the low cost of free. I have switched to the shot scope for this year, so I haven't been using that anymore.

I have been using Golf4Watch on my active2. It has a 10% battery drain per hour which is quite good. It has no scoring, but distances are accurate including a satelitie overview of each hole.

Anyone have issues with the app if you have to restart?  When I go back in to resume the round, it only shows me my scorecard and not the yardage.  I have to quit the round and act like I started on the 14th hole to get it back.  I lose my score when I do this so that isn't a great fix.
