Edel wedge question

Edel wedge users: what are your thoughts on hitting full shots with edel wedges vs Vokeys? 
 

I have a set of SM6s I’ve been using for the last couple seasons (51, 55, 60) and picked up a 60 degree edel wedge (driver grind) I’ve been practicing with around greens. I love the shape of the 60, the leading edge specifically has a different look to it that I love for shots <30 yds but interested in hearing others experiences flighting full wedge shots with Edel wedges vs Vokeys. Thinking of purchasing a set but figured it was worth hearing feedback before pulling the trigger on a fitting/or buying a set.

Once you can get past the looks vs. other OEM wedges, it is nothing.  The one main problem I had with a set was I would over spin the 50* on full shots and would end up sucking it back, often way too much.  Didn't have this issue with the 54/58 at all.  So I ended up being pretty leary about using for lots of shots.  Since moving over to sets with GW's, no issues as I don't have to bag the 50*.  

 

Now that I've gotten my hands on a set of Edel irons, I will be trying them out and will be putting the 50* back in the bag, so we will see once again.

I have a 55* with a driver grind.  I hit everything from about 80 yards on a full swing to little chips and pitches with it and shots in between.

 

It works just.fine for full shots for me.

Great for full shots.  All of mine, 47/54/58.  Although I admit hitting a full 58 isn't usual for me.  I prefer the lower knockdown 54 pitch.  

 

I will say I don't have wedge flex shafts, I use same as my irons.  That immediately made me a better full shot player with my wedges.

FYI  - Edel has been hinting at either a new fitting process and/or new wedges.  May want to wait to see what that is all about.  

(I am interested in Edel Wedges as well, but never hit them yet - in wait state right now)

Very nice wedges. Wide flange and more bounce than industry standards. Alot of unusual grinds where the placement of low point of bounce is well considered. Only thing that turns me off alittle is the whole "everyone is wrong and only I, David Edel, gets the entire picture" shtick.

 

My 2 cents, fwiw.
