Daly is the first pro to employ the players-distance model on Tour. The hollow-body construction and military-grade maraging steel L-Cup face are geared for forgiveness and distance — two things Daly has rarely needed in his career.

He was playing the Taylormade P770 irons at Pebble.

These are a closed cavity iron with a TPU filler design much like the PXG iron.

I'm very impressed with the Forged TECs so far this season. Big fan of the feel and i find them to be very accurate.

 

My last round i hit 16 GIRs and one of the misses was intentional (didn't want to try and carry a bunker from 180 out of the rough). The other miss was from 208 into the wind with a 4 iron. I essentially hit 16 out of 17 greens i was attempting to hit.

 

So i am a fan, so far

Maybe it's time to resurrect this thread? As a former user of P7MB but now using P770 and it's been great for my game. However I've noticed that even though I'm hitting more consistent shots to within 30-40 feet or less to my target with P770 but I could tell that true blades does deliver tighter proximity to the target when struck well. 

 

I've decided that I can live with less mishits this way. Ha

I am looking forward to my Takomo 101's. I haven't heard much about them, but what size heard is good. For the price, they would have to be pretty bad for me to be disappointed. 🤣

So I have 4 rounds of 9 and a range session with my Takomo 101's and I'm still on the fence. Thy go like gang busters and straight, dead straight. But I can't tell for the life of me where I hit it on the face unless it's way out on the toe or of the heel. They all feel like pretty good shots, but you can tell based on the flight where I hit it on the grooves. 

 

I like a little more feedback, these might not be around long.
