Replaced Ap2 710's, Old Vokeys, and 818H1 hybrids with Ping i500's, Glide 2 & 3's and Ping G410 Hybrid's. My Titleist Bag feels pretty phoney now, but not bad enough to drop $200ish on a new one.

Disagree. My swing doesn't "repeat" in the sense that I need a fitting to dial in every last spec of an set. I'm not going to spend hours with a fitter on a Trackman gapping my irons when my two most consistent misses are thin and fat shots. 

 

However, swing speed and how I load the shaft in transition are going to be pretty consistent swing to swing regardless of whether I make center face contact. 

 

That, and length and lie angle are going to be different for me at 6'5" than an average golfer, so I'm not buying OTR anyway.

I'm of the opinion the mizuno shaft fitter coupled with a head you like is sufficient for 99% of people out there.

High end Fittings.  That's my unpopular opinion.  I am 5'8" and 170 lbs and have had a few fittings and I always come out as stock.  No joke.  That being said, telling me I need a $1000 driver with an exotics shaft doesn't pass the sniff test.  I am an 18HDCp and there is no way that would help me.  

 

@betarhoalphadelta  I agree that with your size, a fitting probably helps you but for the average golfer, i think the free PGASS fitting is more than sufficient.

Add in the Ping Color Chart and you could probably end up with a very solid setup for basically a free fitting. 

 

But actual club fittings are fun, at least for me.

The need to play soft feeling golf balls is stupid. 
 

As long as you’re compressing it enough, and not sacrificing performance they all feel good off the center.

Here's two more:

 

 

The "distance" problem should be solved by making all golf balls conform to a maximum of 65 compression. Normal-hitting players don't have any change, but big bombers have a different risk/reward formula.

 

Also, golf courses could play a lot longer if you simply require a Bermuda Ball / 1/3-1/2 flight ball off of all non par-3s. Could make exec courses play like 7000's that way.

I'm hitting my VR Pro Combos for my swing analysis tomorrow (my shafts didn't get here in time for my KZG's). I loved both my combo Nikes.

My first non essential adult purchase was a set of Titleist DCI Gold irons that I gamed from September 1992 until November 2019. It is completely nonsensical but I have a real attachment to them. So many good memories from playing golf with family and friends that I attach to those clubs. They will never be sold.

Awesome...great story! That’s a legitimate reason though...if I had that kind of connection with any of my clubs, I would keep them also!

There are very few times to let singles and doubles play through as it slows the course down and interrupts my round. They need to make some friends or slow down their play. And no this is not an equipment opinion... My bad.

I hate playing through people regardless it’s always a sure thing bogey or worse, I’d rather watch them hit all day then me double the hole I play through in any situation lol.

This is what I do if I can't  jump ahead. Playing through is awkward, but the way the club is laid out, I can tee from 1, 5, or 8 easy.

I wouldn’t tell someone not to spend $2000 on a putter if they can afford it. But I do think that what they’re buying and what they’re paying for are two entirely different things.
