I'm of the opinion the mizuno shaft fitter coupled with a head you like is sufficient for 99% of people out there.

Then I’m your 1%, that little Mizuno tool spit out PX 6.5, C-Taper X, and DG X100 in that order. My driver SS is 92 mph tops. I was fit last week for Recoil 95’s in stiff.  🤷🏼

I wouldn’t tell someone not to spend $2000 on a putter if they can afford it. But I do think that what they’re buying and what they’re paying for are two entirely different things.

For sure...to each their own, but can’t imagine spending anything close to that on a single golf club!

Hard enough for me to imagine spending $800 on a Driver (Canadian prices)! 🙄

At least Titleist makes balls! I’m carrying a Ping bag and I don’t have a single Ping in it since I swapped putters last month.

Lol, I play Vice Pro, so no Titleist there either.

I float them in epsom salt water, then toss the rare bad one. Totally worth cutting the price in half. (Snell seems to have more defective ones than Vice from my experience)

Many pro players lost their touch when they changed club manufactures and no one seems to talk about it.

There was a massive thread about this exact topic last week. Plenty of people talking about it.

I get what you're saying but its also got some factors left out from each of us. I just see a ton of people miss long. They fly it the right distance, but rolls out to a 10footer now. IE: If your front edge is 170 and pin at 180, and you only have that 180 number -as many people do- you're either 1) landing 180 and rolling long or have gone left/right. If you hit front edge at 170 (pin at 180) and hit your 170 club, you're either landing short and rolling up pin high, or have gone left/right. The left/right miss is inconsequential and highly dependent of each particular hole.

Of course, each hole is unique with their hazards and those should be factored in, but in general with a clear green I don't see people factoring in rollout.

I don't get much runout on an iron that hits the green, unless they're rock-hard.  I can hit a 195 yard 5i that only rolls out 5 or 6 feet.

- You don't need a lob wedge to play well

- Getting fit for clubs, no matter how much you suck, is the best thing for your game

- It really doesn't take long to suck at golf, suck faster LOL

Poker chips, challenge/collector coins and any other CNC machined collector garbage are unacceptable as a ball markers, way too big. Keep your manhole cover in your tiny corner of the house your wife still lets you put crap you "collect" and keep it out of my sigthline.

I'd prefer you use a flat plastic disk that my ball could potentially roll over and not deviate course at all. But a small coin is fine, like penny, dime, if you must. No 50cent piece, or Eisenhower dollars. And if you forget and use a tee on the 1st green...dig something out before hole 2.

Endo forged hahahaha ok

Camerons retail are garbage

Odyssey’s are made of press metal, they bend by hand. Junk

It doesn’t take that long to hit it that bad

Irons should not be called forgiving. Some are more user friendly but a miss is a miss

I've owned both and glued, bonded Drivers are superior.

My hybrids and my 4 wood  are bonded.

I would prefer a bonded driver, honestly, how many people are changing their loft and lie settings after getting dialed in?

Seems like it’s easier for guys to buy off the shelf without being fit, and just adjust, so I get it. I have my 9* set at 7.5*..... They are not going to put drivers out at 7-8-9-10-11-12*, but I hear you. I like Bonded clubs. I bought 2 Xtorsion Copper 60TX driver shafts used on the bay and both driver shafts had Golf Pride Align grips on them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Unless you have a medical reason, if you can't carry your own bag for 18 holes, you have too much crap in your bag. Applies regardless if you're walking/carrying or not. I just don't get these huge monster staff bags - I mean, what do you need all that space for?!?

And I'll even go one further

Golf carts are the bane of the game - it should be walking only - electric/push carts are ok, but you should walk. This would seriously free up some room on the course, and it would make the rounds go faster, and it would make course design more efficient. Carts are only allowed for those that medically need it or if you're over 70. You can't pretend to be a x-stiff, 320 yd carry player if you can't walk 18 ;-).

I try and walk when possible, some courses carts are included so just use them. But some courses I won't walk if too hilly, got a bum knee, need surgery, it's hurts/swollen for a few days after I play and need to be on my feet for work.

Besides that useless info I played a short local city muni on the weekend, like 3800 yards. I always walk it cause it's flat and short and I'm not lazy, even my lazy friend walks this course. But this course you'd rarely see a cart outside the cart girl and marshal driving one or the old senior who can't walk well. But this day there was like half a dozen carts being used and not by any seniors, all younger people. I was just there scratching my head with my buddies asking if something was up that we didn't know.

The adjustable is great for experimentation and for shaft hopping. Been using an adjustable for 3 years. It's good, the bonded ones I used before it were better. I'll buy an adjustable, settle on settings and shaft and then it's getting epoxied shut. There's JDM boutique shops that still offer full dialed in specs with bonded neck. I will do that too.

I had a back injury, so carrying a bag is not in the cards. I can walk with a cart, but even then, it’s a bit much. I suppose if I had one of the carts that is remote, I could walk, but I haven’t gone there yet!

I did play much better when I walked for some reason. I used to play with a friend of mine who had multiple back surgeries and a knee surgery (born that way, not because of injury) and I found that I scored better when I played with another friend who walked. It dropped my handicap from a 5.4 to a 2.8 in a short time after my buddy who rode moved away to Florida.

To me this falls under jacked lofts, people attire, pxg hatred and the likes.

On some level many of us will fall into that. I fall into the hoodie, sneaker hater crowd personally. On one hand I think, to each their own, but I would be a liar if I didn’t root for certain guys over others due to their attire.

I can’t believe Nike put Patrick Reed out on the course looking the way he does week in and week out. His “sneakers” look sloppy, like he ran through a bunch of puddles then left his wet sneakers out on the line to dry for the week, his pants are an ill fitting, un-tailored, dumpy mess, his shirt looks much the same and that hat 🤢

Billy Horchel always looks great. His stuff is classic and tailored (as it should be, you are paid millions and are ambassadors of the sport)  I find myself at times rooting for a guy like Raphael Cabrea Bello to beat some dude out there in high tops, capri’s and a hoodie based on nothing more than my personal view of what golfers “ought” to look like in my minds eye.

You look back to the 50’s-60’s-70’s (yes, I said 70’s, they may have looked funky with plaid color schemes, but they were at least tailored) and they elevated the game imho. Today, I see guys wearing sneakers with slacks and vomit a little.  I think the future generations will look back and think, wow, that looks awful..... even worse than the unfortunate pleated pants with Z-Cavaricci belts from the 80’s

my 2 cents anyways!
