Under Armour Spieth 5

Had a pair of the Spieth 5’s arrive today and they feel great round the house. They’re quite pointy in the toe but width is perfect.

 

These may be my first non-Nike shoes since the original Drive One’s (keep my Tour Premieres for wetter weather)

 

However......I saw the Code Chaos today too and they look great and seem very light!!

Does any UA insiders know if there will be any other versions of the Spieth 5? Ie: colorways, spikes, etc.

Don't know if anyone else has tried these recently but I walked 18 with them on Saturday and they felt amazing.  The HOVR cushioning felt perfect and I didn't slip once.  I've never worn the previous Spieth shoes because they always felt too heavy and stiff, but when I tried these on in-store I had to have them.  The looks have grown on me too.

 

I had previously returned the Nike ZIT and Puma ProAdapt Delta before I got these because of the narrowness.  The material on these stretches much better for my foot and I went true to size even though they're a touch long.  I didn't notice that extra length on the course at all though.

 

Overall I'm highly impressed with these and can't wait to get some more rounds in them.

Looks like they are $199 not $300. Still a lot for a spike less from and underdog company IMO.

Under Armour needs a new design guy....the 5's are horrendous

After being in spikeless with laces for the past 3+ years, I had my mind made up that my next pair would have BOA and soft spikes. Then these came out and I really liked the look. Then I was able to get a pair at a really low price ($130 out the door) so it was a no-brainer. 
 

I’ve worn them for 1 round yesterday and are wearing them to walk a course while my son plays a tournament today. I wear a 12 wide according to Brannock Devices. That’s what I ordered and these are slightly too narrow. They are also slightly long and the toe box is a little tight. For reference, all Footjoy’s I’ve tried have fit me perfectly in 12 Wide. 
 

The soles/insoles do feel really comfortable despite not being the best fit for me. The spikeless soles feel exceptional and tackier than most spikeless I’ve used in the past. I actually stayed in them after my round yesterday to walk my dog when I got home and they sounded like they were sticking to the concrete. I don’t know if that’s good or bad since it could mean the spikes are soft material. I’m a heavier guy at 5’11/265 lbs, the course was wet from heavy rain, and I never felt like I lost traction when playing. 
 

So the TL/DR: A little long/narrow relative to size, very comfortable though, great traction. I also love the way they look.

I just encountered what I’d consider a flaw in this shoes design. The upper is a synthetic material, but the tongue is a stretchy fabric material. I played 9 in swampy conditions today and afterward the mud wiped right off the synthetic upper, but is imbedded into the tongue. I’ll have to try some laundry spray cleaner or something.

Interested in any follow up reviews on these. I’m looking for a little more traction than my True’s provide on soggier days and have my eyes on these or fj traditions.
