Anyone hit these side by side? I have a fitting coming up next month but was interested in the feel difference between the two.

I have during two different fittings. Gen4 was a it better for sure. There is 1* of loft difference and I did see a small

distance increase. As a 7 hdcp, there was a slight difference and the the Gen4 were very good. That being said I am about to pickup a set of Gen3 P’s because of the big price difference. If price was not an issue then it’s Gen4 all the way!!

I hit them side by side .... for me, Gen 4s (Ps) out performed the Gen 3s. Both are great clubs and I have several friends that reported the opposite- that the Gen 3s out performed the 4s for them.

it will always come down to you, your swing and personal preferences.

Gen 4 is better for sure, spin, speed, feel just a little bit better.  The big difference for me is I really like the lighter graphite shaft, KBS TGI 80 and fitter recommend me to go 1/2" longer and move my strike point more to the middle, to get the right swing weight for me, he changed out the middle weight from standard to -2g and it make a world of difference.  So I bought the Gen 4 in the end and my set makeup is only 6 to P, so the difference is not as BIG.

It sounds like you were just fit better with the 4's.

I have played every generation of the PXG irons until the next Gen came out. I will say that there is a significant difference between the Gen 2 and the Gen 3's.

With that being said and even though I play the Gen 4's I do not think there is a big difference between the 3's and 4's. Maybe a hair more forgiveness and a little softer feel but nothing significant. If price isn't an issue and you just want them ( my case ) then get the 4's. If you're looking for value then get the Gen 3's. You won't be dissappointed.

Any idea what the bounce is on these irons?  I am a sweeper……looking for low bounce…..

Not to threadjack, but if you're looking for low bounce I'd recommend the Mizuno MP20 line. I've played Mizuno for ~25 years going back to T-Zoid Pros, but I'm looking to move away after recognizing that higher bounce is better for me. Likely going to wind up in Gen 2 PXGs given current pricing is a great opportunity to test-drive my theory for a while.

I just happened to compare the two versions yesterday on their website and it looks like the head specs are still the same for the P. Top line, sole, length, etc. If I recall what our local fitter told me correctly, they may have rounded the toe on Gen4 to give it a more compact look. I switched out to T after Gen2 because I wanted a more compact look. They're so easy to hit.

Well something new arrived today - I have to say that I know the dark finish makes them look smaller, but I think that the Gen 4 P irons are significantly smaller than the Gen 3 P irons.

Yes, the G4 is 1* stronger due to profile changes

The only difference in size for P posted on the website is the sole width difference smaller of .005. The T sole actually went wider by the same .005.  whether or not this caused the lofts on P to be jacked 1 degree stronger is anyone's guess. Not sure why fitters are saying it's a smaller profile, if their website is saying otherwise. But you know what they say, if it's on the Internet it's true...

My fitter did not say they were smaller, he only said loft was 1* stronger due to CG difference.

I think the one degree of loft might add 3-5 yards extra distance.  Also those that have played the 0311 P or T model how big are the heads and soles of these. Would the 0311 t be similar size to say Titleist t100 or muzzy 921 tour?  Would the 0311 p be bigger say Callaway Apex size? Just trybing to get a good gauge on how big the heads are soles widths are.  Would the 0311 p bi similar in size to the tm770?

I just got my Gen4 P's with MMT 80g, on the short irons I'm noticing less distance on well struck shots, 5-6 yards.  Before I overreact I'm going to chalk it up to the ball, the Vice Pro Zero hasn't been a performer for me with irons play.  I'll put a ProV1 in play next round and see what happens.  Look, feel, dispersion, flighting - all excellent but I need to figure out the distance short fall - kind of a big deal when you are bringing one in high to a front pin with trouble.

For those who have upgraded from Gen 3, is it worth it? I love the feel of my Gen 3 0311P’s, but I experienced a half club drop off from the Apex’s I was playing previously. Is there any added distance in the Gen 4’s? I know the lofts are a degree stronger.

That’s funny I switched from Apex 19 combo to Gen 3 T and actually gained a little distance, although that could be swing changes as well. From everything I’ve read Gen 4 is a little bit more distance as well.

I have the Gen 3 Ts and I feel the profile is definitely bigger than the T100s.

I’d love to make the switch to something with a thinner topline than my current irons but since I’m not hitting the 4 (and to a lesser extent 5) super consistently I don’t think I can 🥲
