Give Zach some credit. Two time major winner. Agree, people don’t pay for a ticket to see that type of players, but the guy’s got grit indeed. Good old Corey Pavin tradition.

Sure. He had a plan, stuck to it and it worked. At the end of the day he won, so definitely some credit is due.

However, as a tournament and a spectacle it was entirely underwhelming. In that sense it was a big disappointment. Part of that was due to the course set up, just like the year before.

2016 was insanely entertaining. 2003 was the earliest masters I remember and was very popular north of the 49th parallel.

I'm just going with the "entertaining" player factor...but yes, pretty much all the Masters that I can remember were good except there was one year it rained a lot and with all the delays, by Sunday it was like...who cares...can't remember the year.

You are right though 2016 did have some drama - Spieth implosion, Westwood chipping for eagle them promptly making bogey on 16!

Speaking of implosion.  Anyone got Spieth in the water on 12 any of the four days this week?

Biggest shock so far is Brooks being there. Seems pretty incredible, having had surgery on 16th March that he is seemingly fit and able to play. He has said that he has spent seven hours a day on the treatment table to get himself ready. I wonder how ready the game will be if that has been the case.

Don’t know how ready he will be, but one thing is sure. He can’t win if he doesn’t play.

Kicking off my own “champions dinner” on Wednesday with a 24oz dry aged boneless ribeye from Lobel’s in NYC and a bottle of Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon.

THE GREATEST WEEK OF THE YEAR!

What time should I show up?

He will have a built in excuse if he doesn't play good now.
